No surprise here!

So, would you recommend I give this series a try ? Keep in mind I have never seen TWD and my list in my General Discussion thread, is a decent representation of what I watch.

I'm thinking it should be okay to watch this spinoff without having watched the original. Any thoughts ? Thanks.

Take a look, try an episode or so (I always go three episodes to give the actors time to get into their character), if it's good it's good!

That would be correct. There's no need to watch eight seasons of TWD for the sake of two crossover characters that appear later in the series, and their respective backstories that shouldn't be mission-critical to your enjoyment factor. When and if you do decide to watch TWD, after completing FTWD, it will be one of those light-hearted "Ah, I see..." moments after you encounter those crossover characters on TWD.

Although...

...TWD is a great series worth watching!

How about this. What's YOUR opinion on the show ? Do You like it ? Are Seasons 1-4 better than 5-8 ?
Honestly, I want to know what others think, and don't really need advice on how to discern what excites me. Obviously, I'm giving some value to others opinions of shows they watch. If it bothers you that I'm asking and you don't like sharing, that's fine, but this, "if not, don't" is a little ridiculous, imo. I'm 51 years old, lol, Hmmm, let me think if I've ever considered "watching the trailer" or an episode or two, to see if I like a show. Ha. C'mon, you know me well enough just from here, that I've negated numerous Series after 1 or 2 episodes. It's perfectly fine to like a show and recommend it, especially if asked directly.

You either recommend it or you don't. I'm not going to judge you if you like something that I don't. I obviously want to hear an opinion, or I wouldn't have asked. This IS the Fear the Walking Dead thread, yes ? Ya know I'm doing my best not to even mention a different series on a particular thread. Can't have that mess. LOL.

Ha. I'm up to S2Ep08 of FTWD (recall when I started), and it's probably my favorite of the 10 or so different shows I'm currently watching. Have a feeling now I'll end up viewing TWD and any other spinoffs. LOL.

Cool. I'll definitely let you know. I'm aware of the direction the reviews are going, but I don't always put too much stock in the uber critical zombie followers.   I'm no zombie apocalypse connoisseur....Glad I listened to ya'll.
