Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Could we get the option to have episodes show up on our Episodes list at midnight for our time setting, please? Example: My time is Pacific, a show isn't expected to air until 10:00 p.m., but I acquire it many hours before. I would like it to be on my Episodes list so I can check it off as soon as I have it. Would a setting like that be possible?

How do you acquire it many hours before it airs? Cheers!

Maybe here: https://next-episode.net/settings?action=airdates you have checked the option "Offset air dates by 1 day so that shows appear the next day after they air"?

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
@g371 & Santah - I think I'll try the "Do not use local timezone" setting for a few days and see if that satisfies. I didn't even realize we had it until after I posted my question.

Would there be a way to get a notification when things add under My Movies are released or get a release date?

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Been meaning to ask for a while... the filters for the "Top Charts" lists: Some ("Hot" and "Trending") allow filtering for genre, but only have 6 options available, meaning most genres cannot be searched that way. All the other lists have no available genre filter whatsoever and are fairly inconsistent in layout in general... So the question is, is there a conscious design choice here? It would be nice to be able to actually use these lists to discover new shows more efficiently...

Agreed. The design of these is quite old, inefficient and way due for a redesign. Do you have concrete ideas for how exactly those can be improved (other than having all available genres to chose from). Cheers!

It would probably already improve most of them to just use the design of "Browse TV Shows" consistently, plus their respective extra filter options. Having some form of multi-select on genres and channels would also be nice, though i would not call that a thing that is desperately missing right now.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
When I'm searching for and adding movies to my list, I would love to be able to set the Acquired / Seen states right from that page. So once I've added it to my list, those options would appear next to the "remove from my movies" button or something. As it is now, I have to search for and add a movie or ten to my list, then go to the list and sort it by recently added (which it never is) and give them the correct states.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Was just browsing the "Upcoming" list again and noticed that quite a few of the shows in there already have a rating. Maybe it could be a good idea to do the thing Rotten Tomatoes did and disable rating of shows that do not have any released episodes yet? Not exactly a pressing concern here, but I think it would seem sensible...

Yes, I suggested the same thing.

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Will be done guys! Will remove ratings for all not yet released shows and will disable rating unless an episode has aired. @ArniVidar - I'm considering it.

Yay! Btw: I did not receive a notification email for this reply of yours, but for your latest reply below. I did not visit this thread in the meantime but I visited the forum, was that enough to trigger the notification email?

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
A minor bug report, kind of, I guess... If you untrack a show, it simply gets added to your untracked shows - a simple JS operation. Re-tracking it on the other hand is apparently handled by forwarding you to This means that if you immediately un-track again, the show gets untracked; but if you refresh the page, the URL still points to the re-track request, meaning the show keeps getting tracked. Took me a bit to figure out what was going on. This is a somewhat exotic edge case, but it might seem reasonable to take a few minutes looking into it at some point.

That's not a bug, it's a feature to make you slowly go mad
DRM "manages access" in the same way that Prison "manages freedom". http://xkcd.com/488/

Oh right. I keep forgetting about that use case. Why the effort tho? Just wait and watch. It'll be any day now...

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
On our Episodes page, there's an option to set the service from a dropdown list. Could we have a user setting to automatically assign these services? I'd also like to choose which services to automatically assign (i.e. automatically assign Netflix, but not Google Play). Would that be useful to anyone else? Is it workable?

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
The (apparently new?) show status "Series no longer being developed!" seems to be assigned to the "Active" category. Should probably be "Inactive". EDIT: Nevermind. It is not, in fact, the show status but the "More Info" line below it. Still, it would be nice if "In Development" was treated separately to "Active", as there are a lot of shows on this site that were announced once but never made and they kind of clutter some of the discovery pages.

So by automatically assign, you mean shows that originally "air" on a "service" show it up by (a non removable) default. While it makes sense, I can see a few potential problems. I'll think about it some more ...

Yes, but only if the user chooses to auto-assign that particular service. Or, I suppose, all services. Thank you for your consideration!

Re: Features/Improvements Requests
Usually shows on streaming services are available early in the morning (3am?) on their release date but they don't show up on the Episodes page until later in the day. Maybe you could change the time so they show up earlier?
