Based on the novellas by Luke Jennings, Killing Eve centers on two women; Eve is a bored, whip-smart, pay-grade security services operative whose desk-bound job doesn't fulfill her fantasies of being a spy. Villanelle is an elegant, talented killer who clings to the luxuries her violent job affords her. Killing Eve topples the typical spy-action thriller as these two fiercely intelligent women, equally obsessed with each other, go head to head in an epic game of cat and mouse.

This show is a pure masterpiece

Re: Killing Eve

I'm just watching 2x01. At 24:07 Villanelle falls onto the floor (I think that's not a spoiler, given the amount of fights in the show) and her head really hits the floor.

I've wondered about that in similar scenes (in other shows) before: how do they shoot such a scene?! I doubt that they stop production for 2 or 3 days so the actor/actress can cure their (at least) mild concussion (or abuse stunt(wo)men for that)... is it CGI?

In most shows people fall in a way that they can prevent their heads from hitting the ground (like using their arms as a cushion or falling in a way that they can use their neck muscles), but in those rare other cases?

And this scene was great:

Probably they improvise. If an actor is dedicated and not a crybaby, I assume in such case stuff just looks more natural and you can deal with your concussions later big_smile

And not all women are made from glass, MMA fighter Angela Lee was fighting in one fight while having a severe pneumonia and even won. I think everybody who ever had a pneumonia can imagine how hardcore is that smile Here is that fight: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwC5jnVAJLg

Fighting with a severe pneumonia? I call that silly, but then I don't see much sense in MMA (or boxing) either. wink

Oh, when I'm not watching TV series, I'm busy with concussions-rich sports big_smile It's completely doable to finish the scene and cry later when you hit your head in a simple fall. A lot of actors have broken bones while doing their own stunts and these scenes are in the movies.

MMA is the only fighting sport that makes sense (not counting Krav Maga, which isn't really a sport), boxing on the other hand does not make sense at all - and in that video you can see how the boxer loses instantly smile

Weirdly that version is in 720p only, but others are in 1080p - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMOWANiWRkQ
