Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker

I hate to jump on the negativity bandwagon but the magic of SW really seems to have gone. The first bit with Rae running and jumping was ok but the rest did absolutely nothing for me.

Also what's with the name "The rise of Skywalker? Either they have retconned Raes parents after 1 movie and she is a Skywalker now or Luke comes back to life. We know Leia has to die at some stage so they aren't referring to her or does "skywalker" become the new name for the Jedi?

I did read somewhere that they didn't actually have a story arc for the 3 new movies planned in advance and it shows....what a mess. I really hope I'm wrong and its amazing but I'm not expecting it at this stage.

It's all in the titles.

The Force Awakens The Last Jedi, The Rise of Skywalker.

The Force is the alarm clock, the last Jedi is Luke...and he rises from his bed, goes to pee, makes some coffee and reads the morning paper.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker

Another theory I heard by Kevin Smith.

The Last Jedi ended the Jedi. The Rise of Skywalker means that now that there are no Jedi, the new "Religion" is Skywalkers and the Jedi of now are called the Skywalkers.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker

At this point I just don't expect too much from Star Wars...

...but I reserve the right to be totally blown away by something like the lightspeed sacrifice scene in The Last Jedi (on the big screen) yikes yikes yikes yikes

SPOILER Show
ONLY watch if you already watched the movie or don't plan to watch the movie:

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker

Visually amazing but if this is possible in the SW universe, why didn't they just do this to the Death Star 1 and 2...plus I'm sure they have autopilot if they have light speed.

Yeah, I wondered that too... they could just add light speed drives to really big rocks and have a great weapon... imagine a 10 m^3 block of granite hitting the target ship with light speed, maybe even on a bridge-to-drive trajectory. big_smile

This!! I totally agree, after the last movie I just don't try to get too excited.  Don't get me wrong I'm still going to go see this one because my sons will want to go, but we shall see if it turns out any good.
