Based on the third novel in the Jumper series by Steven Gould, "Impulse" features a rebellious 16-year-old girl who has always felt different from her peers and has longed to escape from her seemingly quaint small town. When a local drug dealer attempts to assault her, she discovers she has the extraordinary ability to teleport. This newfound power confirms her conviction that she really was different from everybody else, but it now makes her the focus of those who want to control her.

i was hooked instantly, Youtube really picked a dam good show, at first this might feel shitty teen drama but it really isnt. Acting and the plot is very good, cgi quite well done too and the characters are interesting. i was so happy i was able to binge watch this and so pissed of that it ended too soon big_smile Season ends in a really interesting cliffhanger and season 2 will prolly be even better than first.

very good show, forget the shitty marvel shows, this actually delivers unlike cloak and dagger...

Oh and first 3 Episodes are free to watch in youtube, for the rest you need to buy youtube premium.

Re: Impulse

Yeah, it was good, just a bit too much drama for my taste.

Re: Impulse

Yeah the drama queen stuff was a bit much but overall it kept you coming back to a well done series.

I've watched 2x1 today. Sadly, the drama overload continues... I increased playback speed to 1.4x at times because of that, but I'm not giving up on the show yet because the show's general concept is still promising.

This show is pretty much all drama, and I think that is actually okay. It is well-done drama.

The actual premise of the show often falls short to that, more so in season 1 than 2, but this is actually one of the few shows where I think it does not actually suffer for that.

Season 2 ended on an interesting cliffhanger; the kind that opens the show up to go in all kinds of interesting directions from, while at the same time leaving its ongoing plotlines in a state of "resolved enough". Not sure I have seen a show accomplish that like this...

Still, here's hoping for season 3.

"All drama" is virtually never okay for me. big_smile I'm happy you've enjoyed it, and I'll continue to post here if I make it through the show. cool That cliffhanger sounds promising...

Oh, same here, definitely. It usually just gets old real quick. But in this show, at least it is not just pointless drama but the kind that is actually trying to drive the plot forward.

I think most characters make a certain amount of sense. The weird drama they produce often actually seems believable, which is something that can not by far be said about any show.

And then again, they manage to actually continuously tie it back into the actual premise of the show. That is nice.

Re: Impulse

I'm enjoying this. Currently three episodes in, characters are likeable and story is good.

Just finished the season. Thankfully not all season 2 episodes were full of drama... cool

I thought it would end with a kinda-weak cliffhanger, but then came the real cliffhanger! Nice!! big_smile

Just the female cop thread was not "resolved enough" IMO.

And if the producer is reading this: PLEASE, LESS DRAMA IN SEASON 3!

True.
That whole plotline did, IMO, feel kinda tacked-on to begin with though, culminating in being pretty much literally sidelined to deal with other plotlines instead.
The fact that neither apparently you nor I remember what the character was actually called, even though it seems she has been in the main cast for the runtime of the show, kinda just reinforces that impression...

Re: Impulse

‘Impulse’ Canceled After Two Seasons on YouTube

Dammit.

12

Re: Impulse

No surprise (given how much YouTube has canceled), but still slightly sad to see it end already.

13

Re: Impulse

I was honestly surprised it got a second season at all, but am glad it did.

Gotta leave it at that then, apparently. A shame, still.

Re: Impulse

Yep... would have been nice for them to explore that more.

Spoiler

It would have been nice if they'd not left that person under that unreacheable waterfall!

  hmm

2020.  Meh.

Re: Impulse

It would spoil a great scene for someone who hasn't watched the second season yet. smile

Re: Impulse

I am pissed at Youtube for cancelling this show. In return I cancelled my subscription on Youtube.
The shows Impulse and Origin was the only reason I had a Youtube subscription.

An enjoyable 2 season show from Youtube of all places,  of 20 eps. Some nice destruction effects

21

Re: Impulse

I liked it pretty well, but it's been quite a while and i don't remember if the ending was satisfying or cliffhangery.

merc, why did you create a new show thread when https://next-episode.net/impulse already has the forum link to the existing show thread? I added the posts to the existing thread.

when I did a forum search I did not get this  link only a ref to discontiued shows. "search" does not seem reliable?

Re: Impulse

I have just finished this both seasons and it is a really brilliant show.  Two seasons was about right, too many shows just go on and on. Though I am surprised another source like Netflix didnt  take up the show. And the ending high pitched drama,

Spoiler

the killing of Nickolai  into particles of light, the severence from her mum "safe connection", and the poor old cult lady seeing henry vanish in front of her eyes...and poor old Clay being confronted with what he had done by his mum and seeing Henry as he sobs in his bedroom

...

Maddie Hasson is a real star throughout. They all were. I seem to be finding these shows after they are finished

Re: Impulse

and I noticed one person who we had recently seen in The Expanse - the hard hitting lady president of Earth, who had a bit part in Impulse as the time-stopper we saw just a few times in Season 2 of Impulse
