Topic: Stargate Origins
https://next-episode.net/stargate-origins Geez, that was bad! Shows what quality you can get out of a nothing budget. I'll watch the rest of it when it's over I guess - it can't possibly get any worse. A big problem is that they have to make a plot point in 10 mins then keep you watching which just don't work.

Re: Stargate Origins
Yeah a friend of mines basically said the same thing. I'm gonna wait til the rest of the episodes are in the bag before watching them. If I'm not satisfied less than halfway in I'm tossing the bag out with the rest of the garbage.

Re: Stargate Origins
I was REALLY waiting for these If you read the comments in IMDB you'll get the responses (most of which are extremely bad) It MAY get better There are three out with two per week after this plush one final that hopefully wraps into SG I suspect you're correct - binge it Sad, really, as this was (hopefully) the resurrection of SG but the production qualities and acting appear to make this it's grave - unless they do something REALLY smart at the end...

Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

Re: Stargate Origins
Aaand there goes the entire previous SG series through the crapper, no more canon with SG-1 etc. Apart from the really bad acting and extremely fake looking decor, that's the thing I hate the most. Some shitty show that craps on everything that came before it.

Re: Stargate Origins
In the grand scheme of the Stargate franchise, Origins is but a blip on the radar. What will be disappointing is if it's success or failure weighs heavily on MGM's decision to move forward with another Stargate series. The current twitter campaign being led by "Stargate Now" seems to indicate that the importance is not whether it's good or bad, but rather in how much interest it sparks in the fandom. Everyone here who's been through one or more, "Save____Show", or 'Bring Back____" knows that for every successful campaign, there's 10 or more which never got off the ground. This Stargate revival, tho, seems to be the real deal. MGM, now out of bankruptcy, appears to actually have some scifi and more importantly Stargate fans in positions of power. They say, "MGM is open to more SG. We want the Wright/Cooper canon/vision." in a recent tweet. I'm sure that there are a lot of folks here who read Joe Mallozzi's blog. Long time readers have read through the demise of SGA, SGU, and most recently Dark Matter with Joe. I've got to say that this Stargate revival seems to be about as serious as they come. He's not saying what his involvement would or could be with a new show, but I'm sure he's not spearheading this campaign for fun. For those who are SG fans, you should check out his blog. It's pretty entertaining regardless, but it was really interesting when he had a show in play and especially now with all this going on! Anyway, saw this thread and thought it might be as good place as any for my first post!

Re: Stargate Origins
It's not that bad. Actually it's not bad at all, a bit campy, but camp is good. And the Goa'ulds are actually portrayed better than in SG1 (so far).

Re: Stargate Origins
I'm thoroughly enjoying Stargate Origins! The premise of how the Stargate was discovered then hijacked by the Nazis is interesting. These episodes are made on a shoestring and short which makes developing characters and scenes difficult. So I fully embrace the effort and will continue to watch all the remaining episodes (and no the acting is not bad....it's just time restricted).

Re: Stargate Origins
isn't it supposed to be the prelude to a new series? or is this the new series itself? The premise sounds good but I'm kinda scared to watch it now with all the bad reviews

It really isn't that bad. But i'd wait for someone to cut it all together, the 10min episodes are a bit annoying.

no offense but your standards seems pretty low if you say this aint bad, not here to bash you, but like 90% of people who has seen this, disagrees with you. I only hope people stop saying good things about this so the creators wont continue with this bs show. We want the original SG back, not this no budget crap

I'm sorry but you are an idiot to think that the "six dudes" on this site is 90% who has seen it...

Re: Stargate Origins
The last 2 episodes (6 and 7) were a bit better again. As long as they don't have battle scenes or Cathrene with her gang in it too much- the show is alright. Is it bad that the nazis are the most believable characters? Seriously the reaction to being on a whole new planet for the first time was seriously off putting + the bickering instead of the awe was just so... blargh. My main problem isnt't the low budget crap it is the writing in the most part (and the entire "lets charge the stargate with a 40-s car battery").

Re: Stargate Origins
Well, they kinda saved them selves with the last episode... I'm not too happy with the series but it was fun to be "back" in the stargate universe. Not betting on a second season...

Re: Stargate Origins
Ok this is ridiculous, the first 3 episodes are available everywhere, after that you have to live in the right country to watch the other episodes. What a giant pile of BS. "All-Access is not available in your area. We're working hard to find ways for fans in other countries to watch every Stargate movie and episode - including the new Stargate Origins - so stay tuned to the News section of Stargate Command for updates!" Working hard my ass, it is their own series, they can show the first 3 episodes, so they can show the rest as well. This is what kills franchises.

Re: Stargate Origins
This whole 10 episode run was pointless, just a failed try to get people to subscribe to a service that has nothing new to offer.
...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?

Re: Stargate Origins
I wanna sue MGM for wasting 100+ mins of my life That was the biggest pile of garbage I've seen Mostly no-name actors, acting badly Some extras in starring roles all to sell the superb SG franchise?
