Topic: The Good Fight
https://next-episode.net/the-good-fight Well, I liked the spin-off show I like the way the first ep showed the decline / expansion of the firm and Diane Lockhart being friendless As an expansion of The Good Wife I found this refreshing after I got to ep2 and we got some meat on the bones They changed to usual story in #2 in a good way you can totally accept On the whole - a good start

Re: The Good Fight
I absolutetly loved it. Can't wait for more episodes. And if they find a way to get Carrie Preston as Elsbeth Tascioni back, I'm gonna cry tears of joy.

Since i'm a fan of the Good Wife, of course i will watch this aswell but haven't seen it yet. I also liked their other new show "Braindead" aswell, which did show their handwriting and did have some of the Good Wife cast aswell.

Re: The Good Fight
I'm also a fan of The Good Wife and IMO it didn't disappoint during it's pursuit of perfection. Watched the first two episodes of The Good Fight and I must say that so far my expectations have been met there too. Carrie, Punjabi (Kalinda Sharma), and the NSA watchdogs would make me go out and slap somebody with tears of joy, but for now I'll just settle with Elsbeth Tascioni. From what I heard, Punjabi never really thought of a possible spinoff appearance, around the time she left TGW (amid rumors of a feud with Margulies), but she has went on record (back and forth) entertaining the idea of "zipping the boots back up again..." Whatever happens, just make sure to give us Tascioni!! Honestly when I first saw Carrie on TGW my first reaction was, "HEY, look it's Arlene!!"

It's all over. She stole the entire show already. A brilliant, brilliant character, expertly conceived, written and acted.

Wow, what a way to end a really good season. Chaos had a little bit of everything; a perfect ending to a perfect season. Fun episode, good season, great show.

Re: The Good Fight
They seemed to wrap the ponzi story arc abruptly, does anyone know if there was a reason behind this - change of direction, production issue, negative feedback? Or did you think it ended organically?

EXTREMELY abruptly. The main storyline of the show ended in about 3 seconds? And then hasn't been mentioned since? Very strange.

Re: The Good Fight
The 1st scene in this week's episode - s03e02 - not only pleases me greatly because it has the brilliant Michael Sheen, a truly sensational actor with few, if any, equals, but it also made me collapse with laughter!

No question about it! Michael Sheen is an absolute delight to watch—as well as this episode—and for those of you who haven't, it's a bonkers must-see performance. Not that I needed another reason to love this show; his inclusion this season will be incredible. ▼Spoiler The Diane/Kurt/Trumps' story is also hilarious. The moment that got me was watching the judge progressively break to the point where he finally cracked. Fentanyl lollipops, suborning perjury, the first scene like you said; man, don't get me started all over again...

I just watched the episode again, and Sheen is absolutely brilliant. One of those very, very rare actors whose every performance fizzes and pops and sparkles such that the eye (and the ear) is constantly drawn to them. This show seems to be morphing into something very different this season. It has always been a well acted, well written production with high production values, but was somewhat stuck as a run of the mill legal procedural series that was boosted by some wry satirical swipes at the real world. Now it seems to be turning into a wholly satirical show with its sights firmly set on the world of American politics and the American judicial system. Sheen's character's exposition on the irrelevance of facts to the modern world was brilliant and hilarious. I hope this continues and we don't fall back too much to the soap opera aspects of the show.

Re: The Good Fight
▼Spoiler Pongpeng wrote:After a couple of superficially entertaining but broad and Michael Sheen-infected episodes, The Good Fight bounces back big time with its best episode in... ever? Yeah, this might be my favorite episode of the show. It's not only that Blum's presence is only strongly felt, not seen, but also that this episode is super-focused on the firm in every plot. And they really perfect the show's balancing act, between contemporary politics and character dynamics, between big picture theme and minute personal consequences. How Lucca's video sparks off the rumination of the firm's racial bias (or its "supposed" lack of, depending on where you stand on the corporate ladder) is complex, difficult, and so damn exhilaratingly incendiary in the way it pushes our character identification of certain favorites against the important movement that needs to be pushed forward. It's all captured in how legitimate the grievances of Jay and Lucca are about this issue, but so too are the feelings on their faces for Maia when they learn she will be caught up in this. Even the side plots of Julius/Marissa and Diane/Liz tie directly into this gray area, with all characters learning what needs to be done is never black and white, or that simple. This is The Good Fight at its best, really.
I wholeheartedly agree with this. Definitely one of my favorite TGF episodes, ever!

Re: The Good Fight
Can we talk about the animated shorts though? I thought they were interesting at first, but not sure every single episode needs one.
