Zootopia was wonderful. What a great time for animated movies.

It's not only the best video game movie adaptation to date, it's genuialy an awesome movie. The story is crystal clear, regardless of your knowledge of the Warcraftverse (I mean seriously, everything basic, especially character motivations, is explained). Great music, INCREDIBLE CGI (this is the level of quality that Hobbit should've strived for), amazing attetion to detail. Can't recommend it enough for everyone. 2,453 2016-07-03 19:05:56Re: Some movies I have recently watchedThe Fundamentals of Caring (currently on Netflix, as its their original movie) was such a sweet and heartwarming tale. Just right for a Sunday aftertoon. Would recommend. 2,454 2016-07-04 12:58:23Re: Some movies I have recently watchedPride and Prejudice and Zombies. This is actually quite a good film. The current wife and I enjoyed it. DRM "manages access" in the same way that Prison "manages freedom".

LOL, i disagee on everything you just said. Probably one of the worst video game movie adaptations ever. The movie made absolutely no sense. Character motivations were ambiguous at best. the CGI looked just awful, like it was done by a 8yo on a crappy home computer. Don't' even remember the music, it was probably so generic and unimaginative. No attention to detail whatsoever, just look at those stupid full plate armors. I recommend to stay away from this pile of horse manure. 2,456 2016-07-09 12:07:21 (edited by HomerS 2016-07-09 12:10:44)Re: Some movies I have recently watchedMeDumbDuck wrote:
Haven't seen it yet so i can't really say, but the remark about the incredible CGI did raise my eyebrow a little bit because the cgi in the teaser trailer i watched some while ago, looked pretty fake. but they could have improved it in the final movie and maybe it was just not the best scenes. And it seems also that the movie was a flop in all countries except china, where it supposedly breaks all records but there are already rumours/indications that those numbers were tampered with by the chinese company who owns the producing firm 2,457 2016-07-09 12:46:09Re: Some movies I have recently watchedHomerS wrote:
nope. improved it was not. best scenes in trailer. the CGI is even worse in the actual movie. 2,458 2016-07-09 13:28:02Re: Some movies I have recently watchedI saw warcraft, and while i did enjoy the moments where I recognized the units and characters from the games, the plot had me rolling my eyes for most of the movie, it was a bit dumb. If you are a big warcraft fan you would like the movie for the nostalgia (and Warcraft 2 was the game that got me into RTS games back when I had my 486DX), but the plot cliches were a bit over the top, fine for a game, not fine for a movie. So as a movie crap, as a game cinematic - amazing. 2,459 2016-09-17 18:02:29 (edited by xzeal 2016-09-17 18:08:02)Re: Some movies I have recently watchedARQ - wow - now that was a great sci-fi movie, basic plot - time loop! I enjoyed it so much I had to post it somewhere and this place was the only one that came to mind. I expected it to be a bit "meh", but the movie jumped into the plot straight away from the first 30 seconds. Totally skipping character development and all the other crap leaving you to figure out what is going on with the world and the characters themselves as the plot unfolds - which is something I enjoy a lot. IMDB only gives it 6,5 I give it a 8.0-8.5 and that is while not taking into account the low budget. 2,460 2016-12-04 23:12:25Re: Some movies I have recently watchedi watched Moon with my doesn't-like-scifi son and he loved it, to the point he said he would like to see more movies like that... my immediate reply was "there are no movies like that"... anybody have any suggestions that would fulfill this criteria..? (2001 came to mind, but i think that might be a bit too heavy for him.) xzeal, regarding ARQ, it was indeed great, though i could not help but feel they could have shaved a half hour off of it and made it a brilliant Twilight Zone episode... i'm going to eat your brains and gain your memories...
2,461 2016-12-05 07:09:10Re: Some movies I have recently watchedYou're right, there isn't anything. Like you say, possibly 2001, but that's definitely too heavy (but great nevertheless). What about Oblivion? Not really the same (and not anywhere near as good), but I seem to remember when I watched it, they'd ripped off an aspect of Moon. Otherwise, what about Silent Running? Or Sunshine? Or Event Horizon? 2020. Meh.

2,463 2017-02-14 22:10:27Re: Some movies I have recently watchedJust watched Train To Busan. It's a Korean zombie movie. Actually very good. Zombies kind of similar to World War Z the way they swarm. 2,464 2017-03-02 04:08:29Re: Some movies I have recently watchedGodZionu wrote:
I agree. I watched the first episode and was bored senseless about 3/4 they way through. I think you would have to be high on something first to even contemplate watching it. I cannot see this crap series lasting. 2,465 2017-03-02 11:34:13Re: Some movies I have recently watchedPhilmont606 wrote:

I actually liked the first episode despite it being one of those "super powers" tv shows which aren't really my cup of tea. 2,467 2017-03-02 21:30:24Re: Some movies I have recently watchedI watch all the super hero shows, and think that Legion would probably be better if I was off my tits while I watched it. I think it's trying to be too weird and up it's own arse. I get bored through most of it, and that's never good. 2020. Meh.
2,468 2017-03-04 14:24:09Re: Some movies I have recently watchedYou do realize that Legion the movie and Legion the series have nothing to do with each other. 2,469 2017-03-10 20:39:31 (edited by xzeal 2017-03-10 21:00:08)Re: Some movies I have recently watchedRewatched the 4 riddick movies again (one of them an anime) ... still damn good - every single of them. So many good scenes in "the chronicles of riddick". Antisocial bad-asses with morality that deifies social conventions appeals to me for some reason. Almost tempted to replay all of the PC games now, too bad I don't have the time (they actually fit in perfectly with the franchise). 2,470 2017-03-13 02:09:56 (edited by proteinnerd 2017-03-13 02:10:26)Re: Some movies I have recently watchedMeDumbDuck wrote:

Alot of stuff was going on and maybe a bit long at 2h40 but still i enjoyed it quite a bit. It was funny, action packed with non typical Marvel stuff going on. Much better than Avangers 2 and on par, if not even better than Avangers 1. Sorry to say but Justice League, atleast in the movies, plays in the minor league compared to Avengers 3. 2,472 2019-04-27 09:09:43Re: Some movies I have recently watchedI just saw endgame, and it was pretty good, but there were a few weird things. I thought it was strange how the Russo Brothers decided to render Thanos’ erect penis in such vivid detail. The veins were so perfectly done I couldn’t even tell his cock wasn’t real. Another thing I found weird was when Black Panther broke the fourth wall and gave the audience the n-word pass. I did appreciate it, but it would feel more in place in a Deadpool movie. Overall, it was still excellent, but I think that they definitely need to reconsider some things. 2,473 2019-04-27 10:18:16Re: Some movies I have recently watchedOrlando wrote:

Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves. 2,475 2019-05-02 05:32:40 (edited by MeDumbDuck 2019-05-02 06:44:41)Re: Some movies I have recently watchedEndgame was a pointless pile of plot holes. 3 hours and no storyline in sight, none whatsoever.
