Terrible....I don't think I've ever been bored watching a show about a vampire apocalypse before.

Re: Van HelsingWow, I made it to about 20 minutes before I gave up. DRM "manages access" in the same way that Prison "manages freedom".
http://xkcd.com/488/ Re: Van HelsingI thought it was pretty good myself, a story needs to be told. A woman whose blood can turned a zombie back to a human. Re: Van Helsingyeah i think it was pretty decent. i always give anything more than one episode. well, at least 5 really. "city morgue, you kill em, we chill em"
Re: Van HelsingSyfy has a bad habit of stretching out plot that would otherwise be good and making it full of tedious fluff or prolonged scenes. It makes me grit my teeth and that's usually why I can't watch their shows. Often times, the plots don't actually bother me, but it just bores me to death waiting for the damned thing to progress already. The Expanse was doing that to me, even though it had an interesting story. I think you could just watch the first and last episodes of season one and get the whole story. That's bad television. I think we like to be fooled into believing we aren't wasting our time. Syfy also likes to be campy and make b-rated TV sometimes which ... this is turning into a Syfy rant, so I'll stop, but I think this is sort of how the boredom thing is happening. Currently watching
Re: Van HelsingWas really into this as a concept but got bored silly by about episode 4. Just felt like a really really really really long film cut into parts that needed a seriously good edit. Re: Van HelsingThere seems to be a propensity at the moment for stretching out a series and making it seem like there's character and plot/world development happening, whereas it's just lot's of "filler". Van Helsing is guilty of this as was, in my opinion, West World. These series would make very good mini-series of three to four episodes but are to plot/world lite to keep things interesting for a ten to twelve episode season. Re: Van HelsingPatrician wrote:
Totally agree about the Westworld, wouldn't it be better if Tosca or Lakmé were just 2-3 arias without all those fillers? (sarcasm intended, sorry to state the obvious but since you consider most of Westworld boring I was afraid you could've missed it.). Re: Van HelsingPatrician wrote:

Re: Van HelsingI wanted that Doc chick to die horribly right through the whole series, and they never delivered. Re: Van Helsingpyrron wrote:
There is a difference between universe, character and plot development and "filler"; but as you don't seem to want to discuss anything and instead feel the need to resort, not just to sarcasm but then insults by *explaining* the sarcasm, I do wonder why you bothered to waste your time posting anything at all? Re: Van HelsingI for one am very picky about what I watch and when it comes to anything Syfy anymore... most of their shows and movies make me go UGH! But this show has me addicted and wanting more. I hope they don't go canceling it anytime soon. Posts: 12Forums - Next Episode → TV Show Discussions → Van Helsing |
