Re: Some movies I have recently watched
Recently saw the Martian. I'm a science guy and I was impressed. I thought Gravity was good but this was great.

I saw that too, I thought they did a good job of following the book to some extent, but they did change some bits and miss out other parts completely. The book for me was much better. The film, without reading the book, would be a good 8/10 DRM "manages access" in the same way that Prison "manages freedom".

I thought the characters were interesting. A lot of violence that was either graphic or realistic depending on your opinion of these things. Not as good as Pulp Fiction, better than Django Unchained IMO. 2,430 2016-01-08 20:00:45Re: Some movies I have recently watchedOcean's Eleven was a nice and enjoyable heist film. To those who watched the sequels, are they worth the time? 2,431 2016-01-09 12:27:10Re: Some movies I have recently watchedOrlando wrote:

Bring Sally Up, Bring Sally Down... Unforgiven, thought it was splendid. Nothing too fancy when it comes to the story, but it was executed really well in every department. 2,434 2016-01-13 20:23:41Re: Some movies I have recently watchedJust saw Diablo. Holy crap, what a POS. 2,435 2016-01-15 07:43:02 (edited by LuC 2016-01-15 07:46:02)Re: Some movies I have recently watchedproteinnerd wrote:
Watched both movies recently, really enjoyed them and it left me wanting for more. I did a little searching and found that a 5th book is in the works ▼Spoiler but I didn't see anything about a new film being planned :'( 2,436 2016-01-26 20:53:30Re: Some movies I have recently watchedWent to the Zoolander 2 premier last night. If you liked the first one you will definitely like this one. 2,437 2016-01-26 21:07:17Re: Some movies I have recently watchedAshby is not bad. I would give it a 7/10 if you like Mickey Rourke. 4Got10 is a huge stinky. Really bad acting, although the sight of Dolf Lundgren trying to be subtly expressive is REALLY funny in an unintentional way. Moonwalkers was a bit wobbly at the beginning but gets much better as it proceeds. The image of a stressed out CIA operative trying to herd a bunch of hippies and then finally succumbing to chaos is kind of charming. 2,438 2016-02-16 17:28:23Re: Some movies I have recently watchedBridge of Spies was a fun flick that is great for a slow evening during which you don't feel like doing anything. 2,439 2016-02-16 20:06:05Re: Some movies I have recently watchedthe hype about deadpool is justified. saw it saturday and loved it. They filed it the right way so it wasn't another origin story. And it was very funny with some amazing scenes. "city morgue, you kill em, we chill em"

I agree, Skull Poo L is the best comic book movie. ...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?
Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves. 2,442 2016-02-16 22:41:29Re: Some movies I have recently watchedSo saw Dead Pool in the cinema, my sister wanted to see it and invited me, didn't know anything about the movie other than it was supposed to be kind of a "superhero parody-ish" movie, wasn't that keen but didn't have anything better to do. The movie was kind of funny and alright, liked the 4.th wall moments. But there was this one thing that made the show awesome for me and my sister. Do you remember the cab driver talking about his love interest? The girls name was Gita, well that is the nickname of my OTHER sister, so every time he said Gita me and my sister were laughing out loud in the cinema while everyone else was silent and looking at us funny. Man that was super embarrassing, but so damn funny to us that we couldn't help ourselves. So in a way it was one of the best movie experiences I have ever had . Had I been there alone or with any other person It would have been about 5% as funny, but since I was there with the only other person who found it funny in the exact same way as me it was the funniest thing in ages ... and also one of the most awkward things, which made it even funnier ... I just can't describe the experience in words . I am still laughing thinking about it a day later. 2,443 2016-04-10 15:38:19Re: Some movies I have recently watchedHow to Train Your Dragon was lovely. Wish I had watched it sooner. 2,444 2016-04-10 20:44:05Re: Some movies I have recently watchedWatched it with some friends and had so much fun at laughing the creepy ass doll and trying to work out what the hell was going on. 2,445 2016-04-16 20:21:18Re: Some movies I have recently watchedMad Max: Fury Road was incredible. Insane action with a suprising strong narrative and characters. Loved it. 2,446 2016-04-25 04:10:43Re: Some movies I have recently watchedOrlando wrote:

Basically this. Great story, amazing visuals....but less gags than some of the other recent movies. Definitely see it in the cinema if you like comic book movies but I'd skip the 3D, made the action scenes a little blurry. .....just makes me scratch my head at DC even more that MARVEL can consistently come out with great, entertaining, fun movies but DC only seem capable of making, movies that are kind of ok in their extended universe at this point...... if you had told me as a kid growing up that movies about freakin Captain American would be better than Superman or Batman, I would have laughed in your face. 2,449 2016-05-09 07:30:48Re: Some movies I have recently watchedproteinnerd wrote:
watched the movie in 2D, action scenes were a little blurry even there. Specially the first fight scene. very hard was to see what's going on. But i liked the movie. every character who wasn't just a cameo got decent story. Both Caps and Stark sides made sense and i could see why they did the choices they made. I'm also one of the people who think that bad guy was one of best Marvels movie villains. 2,450 2016-05-09 16:45:05Re: Some movies I have recently watchedBatman V Superman in one word: Crap ...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?
