Topic: Renewed for 7th Season

http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/05/10/menta … -canceled/

The good news: Long-running crime procedural The Mentalist will continue to a seventh season. The drama has struggled on Sunday nights in the ratings, but this season the series had a creative reboot which moved the show’s setting from Sacramento to Austin, Texas, after killing off Patrick Jane’s (Simon Baker) longtime nemesis Red John. Showrunner Bruno Heller will now serve double duty on Mentalist and his new Fox series, Gotham.

I find that the reboot has given the show some more life...though it really is just a case of the week show now, without RJ around.

The reboot has helped, I quite like it.

It is well done and they keep coming up with new ideas. The long story arc now involves the killer who is stalking the old Sacramento team.

I'm still really enjoying it....so happy its been renewed

Re: Renewed for 7th Season

The season finale seems to have been intended to be, if necessary, a series finale (although a weak, if heartfelt, one).

Re: Renewed for 7th Season

I'd like to see that Red John was not killed....
Sheriff McAllister wasn't a character as ruthless and resourceful as all the series plotted Red John

but i wish this time red john is trying to lay low but Jane finds a lead that will set him in a new hunt

Re: Renewed for 7th Season

In my fantasy of season 7 Jane does something REALLY stalkerish, starts cracking up, and it is revealed that he is actually Red John with split personnality.

Then CBS explodes and FOX brings back Lie To Me, which was always a way better show in every way while being basically the same thing but with better charactors and without the red john carp.

I liked Lie To Me but I still think Mentalist was better (for me, anyway).

That's quite a good story idea - I like it.

I liked them both.  I think Lie To Me sort of ran out steam, there was no where for it to go really.
