Fargo 
In January 2006, Lorne Malvo passes through Bemidji, Minnesota and influences the community with his malice, violence and deception, including put-upon insurance salesman Lester Nygaard. Meanwhile, Deputy Molly Solverson and Duluth police officer Gus Grimly team up to solve a series of murders they believe may be linked to Malvo and Nygaard. So, anyone watched this yet?

Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

I can't remember how long ago it was I watched the movie, I don't remember anything about it, but I never realised it was supposed to be a comedy. Mostly I remember 'snow' and 'boring'. I'mma go rewatch the movie, perhaps I wasn't paying attention last time.

It was definitely comedy, or what is called "black comedy". William Macy deadpanned his way through several hilarious scenes (like the wood chipper). The pregnant cop (Frances McDormand) had many funny moments. Mcdormand has a career full of excellent comedy performances in movies that were not thought of as comedies.

The Cohen Brothers, who wrote, directed and produced the movie, are involved in the TV show. If nothing else it was a marketing hook to help build an audience. Now, let's talk about this new genre; upper-Midwest noir...

I rewatched the movie and just finished the first episode of the series. I found the series funnier & faster paced but a little less dead-pan. I'm looking foreward to the next episode.

I'm starting to love this, just gets more and more intricate.
▼Spoiler Episode 4 has a reference to the movie, we find out the rich guy found the money one of the bad guys buried in the movie.

I was expecting this to be good but not this good. Great big cast and very good paced story. Everything feels top notch and the result is amazing.

I'm catching up on it, it's wonderful. I like it even more than True Detective. Billy Bob Thornton is fantastic and will probably fight with McConaughey for an Emmy.

This is a really good show in many ways but i did not like two things: ▼Spoiler 1. It is too dark and depressing, they forgot that too pull off dark and depressing black humor they should not really create a "hey i like this character" and then kill that character. Stick to killing random characters, or bad characters. As they have done it now they have left it open to be possibly very uncomfortable because what would be funny if one of the lead police characters or their family members gets killed? That is not funny at all, it would just be depressing. They did that one wrong, should have killed someone else, or made that particular character less likable. 2. No way that he could have got out from the police station with that bullshit fake identity. Also, if one policeman has new info they could wait with releasing him for five minutes and check that new name. And the photo was obviously of him, it should not be up to just one or two guys to say "nah that is not him." They had witnesses who saw him face to face, they could have pointed him out. That was the only weak part so far, really weak though. They should have thought out a better story for how he got out, powerful lawyers or whatever. Also, there should have been no witnesses. I will ofcourse keep watching though, everything else is great.

No, i have now seen the last episode and i will not keep watching this i am dropping this now it is too violent and graphic, it is like violence porn. Unecessary to do these scenes like that. I was on my way to drop it after the first episode because of what happened there but then i got sucked in again because i like the rest of it. But the violence is too much for me.

I for one would have wondered ▼Spoiler if he was actually being shot, or if something else was going on behind , if they'd shown that scene from the other angle. It's brutal, and it detracts from the humor of the show a little bit; but blackmail and bullying and murderous phycopathic rampages shouldn't actually be funny and so I think it's a GOOD thing that people see the the actions in the show for what they are.

Hmm you are right that there is a lot of violence. I didn't really notice it. I never felt it was out of place. I am generally against violence for violences sake and use that to try and get attention. I think all of it has a place in this story. It is a story about something that happened and they try to neither add or take anything away from it. I think there are many other shows that take it much further often just to shock.
