Re: 4x01very boring season premiere. this show drifts even more and more off the books. i'm sad. Re: 4x01Series and books are growing apart by every new ep imho. But that's ok i think. Awesome first episode, losts of things started, they didn't loose time dragging the story (which i felt not so rarely happened whilst reading the book), and Arya... well, finally! Hell of a scene. As a background soundtrack for that conversation and fight i listened this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-oZyAKiWsc it fit nicely.... Re: 4x01So... the news with Daario 2.0 was new to me, I was confused a moment when I saw the new guy. Arya is sadly still alive, lets hope for a swift death, she is easily the most annoying person in this series. Re: 4x01Well I am rather annoyed by the Greyjoys. Both in the books and in the show. I think it was the last book where they started to get a bit interesting. That is like what? Season 7? Re: 4x01Keisu wrote:
But that makes him the most entertaining to watch! He has to be perhaps THE most hated character I've ever seen. I kinda feel sorry for the actor...I wonder if people recognise him in the street and yell shit at him? Re: 4x01proteinnerd wrote:
He already said that after GOT he stops his acting career, wonder why Re: 4x01HomerS wrote:
He also said that he do gets recognized often but that no one has shown any ill feelings towards him. He said he gets asked if fans of the show hate him but he said that everyone seem smart enough to know it is a tv-show and that he is acting. Re: 4x01When he talked about quitting acting he meant from the big scene. He talked about having started a theater company with some friends and he wanted to focus on running that after Game of Thrones. Who knows how he will feel after the show is done. . I'll try to explain myself! I know she has a huge fanbase here, so i'll try not to step on anyones toes. I guess she is supposed to be like 7years old, but in the series she clearly looks like 16, thus you imagine she would know just a tiny bit on how the world around her works. For gods sake she is the daughter of Edd Stark! I find it very strange if he or his sons didnt learn her anything about anything. Like this episode for instance, she ignores the burnface and just walks to the door doing her stupid impulsive thing without consequenses. Bratty little shit kid. She does this all the time. And they clearly want us to think she has toughen up, so she backstabs a few dudes, and kills a disabled guy in cold blood, for killing a guy she knew for 1day.... Seems justified enough! The reason I like the side story is because of the burnface, he can atleast back up his big mouth, witch the "cunt" can not. Re: 4x01latitude75 wrote:
She's not though, she had the chance to go with him and decided to stay and look for her family. Also I think Valar Morghulis is a saying in high valyrian, not a name, but don't quote me on that. Re: 4x01Moze wrote:
You are of course welcome to your own opinion and I cant see it is wrong because that is clearly how you feel about it. I have a different experience. What do you mean with no consequences? Plenty of people around her has died because of her actions. The boy she fenced with when Joffrey showed up and that was later killed by the Hound would be a first example of that. The boy that got killed by her own sword because he hurt his leg another one. Then we have the enemies she have faced that have either been killed by her or because of her. The people killed by Jaqen for example or why not the people at the inn. I would say that her actions have a ton of consquences and I hope she will soon learn that it is her actions that cause this so she can stop (even if it is a lot of fun to watch it). She is around 10 when the series starts. I think she gets the fencing lessons as a birthday gift from her father. I think that was her 10th birthday but I could be wrong. She seem to know a lot. For example she knows a lot of banners and even some lords and knights. Since she dont want to be a lady but a boy she hasnt really been learning much of what young ladies are suppose to know but more of riding and living in the forest. She is still a very impulsive person, something her parents and others in Winterfell tried to make her stop with but her older brothers liked that about her. Being a brat is kinda her thing. I think that comes from her always being forced to do things she didnt want to do growing up so being disobedient became a big part of her personality. Now with the Hound she have another person she dislikes but is forced to be traveling with so she tries to show him that he is not the boss of her. I dont think they want us to think she has toughened up. Rather the opposite. That she is loosing it. With everything that has happened she is constantly occupied with revenge and that comes with anger and a disregard for her own well being. As she is only thinking about avenging people she has lost on the way she no longer seem to care about her own safety. That is why she can challenge grown men like she did to a member of the band without banners and the Hound before he thought against Dondarrion. I find it odd that you compare a young girl (is she 12 in the series now?) to a grown man that is known to be one of the strongest fighters in the kingdom. Are you saying that she should also take on five experienced soldiers head on? Now that if anything would be very stupid. Still with the state of mind Arya is currently in I would not be surprised if she tried. That is my views about the statements you said. Like I said I think they are quite different but who knows which is more correct towards what GRRM wanted to say and the people making the tv series wanted to show us. Either way I am sure Arya still got a lot of adventures ahead of her and I will certainly be enjoying them. Re: 4x01drizzel: Thanks for a good read. You make alot of good points! I see i have forgotten some things, maybe this is more clear in the books witch I have not red. With no consequences I meant to her physically. Tho that is mostly thanks to "burnface" or hound or whatever his name is. The reason I do not say Joffery is the one i like the least is probably because they try too hard to make us hate him. I find it funny sometimes when he is insulting people or just being the dushe he is. I might have exaggerated a bit, but I do find her (Arya) annoying. But it seems she will be more likable with time. Can't wait to find out! Re: 4x01Arya and the Hound are a fun and interesting couple for sure. They introduce her representing innocence, and he a killer, but over the time and experience she is now a killer as well and we've seen him doing more "noble" stuff when it comes to keeping her alive. So now they're both wandering together through a sort of moral grey area. Jaime and Brienne are my other favorite duo. I'm sad their little journey together seems to have reached its end. Was a good episode, got me totally pumped again for GoT, can't wait for this season to play out. Re: 4x01I am glad you liked it Moze. I think we all have different experiences when watching. When I first read your comment that Arya would have ended up getting killed or at least hurt I was thinking who would have hurt her? I couldn't come up with anyone. At first she shows great skills of running away and hiding when necessary. At Harrenhal she showed she is adaptable when in a clinch and managed to protect herself in other ways. Now she has the hound looking after her. Certainly this arrangement will not last forever. So far her journey has been a lot about change, from Winterfell to King's Landing, from the journey with the recruiter for the night's watch to Harrenhal, from the escape to being capture by the brotherhood without banners to ending up with the Hound. Maybe that is why so many like her story. It changes a lot and takes us to new places and let us meet new people that we might otherwise only hear other characters talk about. She is a brat but still quite a charming young lady that always end up making things happen around her. I think the actress have done a great job to capture that.
