So what did you think?

I tought it was kind of lame...

...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?

Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

a bit cheesy but overall not the worst ending for a sitcom

Re: 9x23-24 No visible spoilers please

Man that was a surprisingly depressing and sad finale for a sitcom... reminded me in some ways of Scrubs and Six Feet Under. I liked it very much.

PS. I haven't watched the show for years (last ep I mad an exception for was the one last season when they introduced the mother) so I may have not unterstood everything and my reception may be different from the people that never left the show.

Re: 9x23-24 No visible spoilers please

I'm happy with that ending, yes they could have been more selected with the flashforward (showing us things we already knew was a bit annoying) but overall I don't have any real issues with it smile

I have seen all the eps xrnzaaas and I liked it like you

Re: 9x23-24 No visible spoilers please

While I enjoyed it overall I did feel a little cheated that after 9 years

Spoiler

he ended up with Robin after all

AND

Spoiler

we sat through an entire season that only covered the weekend of the wedding and the marriage was broken up 5 minutes later lol

all in all though, I feel they did a decent job.

But DAMN did they all look young in the closing credits that showed them from the first series....eccept Ted, he didn't appear to age at all.

I thought it was a great ending much better than the friends ending. The pacing was different than usual and it felt also different in general but was still funny with lot of surprises.

And i always knew that she

Spoiler

Robin is the "mother" or thought she should be. After hindsight the entire wedding season was pretty unnecessary tho.

I think the mother served a purpose she was the love of Ted's life but ultimately in life you don't always spend all your life with them (death in this instance took her away from Ted, had she not died they would still be together it was that kind of relationship for me).

I like the fact they went there with the he didn't go off into the sunset and have his happy ever after for the rest of his life with the mother but he was happy.  He has two kids he couldn't have with Robin and now Robin gets the chance to live with the Kids as well.  I'm left happy with them all

Also not saying Robin wasn't another love however.

Re: 9x23-24 No visible spoilers please

Worst planned series finale I have seen. I stopped watching Dexter in season 6 so never finished that. Everything they could of done wrong they did imo. 22 episodes covered 48 hours. 1 hour episode covered 17 years. They needed to drop the wedding ending in episode 6 then gave us all these flash forwards their own episodes. Whole finale felt so rushed because of that. Also fuck the last 2 mins were terrible.

It was totally alright relative to all the other episodes from the later seasons.

don't sweat the petty things, pet the sweaty things

Re: 9x23-24 No visible spoilers please

The finale sort of highlighted just how uncreative the show got over the years...like the whole

Spoiler

high infinity

bit....a major waste of an opportunity for something creative and funny.

The stuff between Robin and Barney was a huge downer...and the twist at the end seemed cheap.

Re: the twist:

Spoiler

...when it finally came that Tracy died, Robin seemed like an awful consolation prize...I mean, she's terrible for Ted in comparison to Tracy...not at all a reflection of what he was seeking in a partner...she becomes a totally self-centered non-romantic that puts her career before her relationship, and she doesn't seem to give a crap about her friends...but hey, Ted's true love is dead, so why not go for a date?

In any case, I'm glad it's done. It wasn't the worst finale...but it certainly didn't leave me pining for more time with the characters.

The first 4-5 Seasons were great, they also have some very likeable characters and some nice catch phrases. Seasons 6-9 starting to be more and more stale but still entertaining enough to be watched.

Its a real shame they didn't finish it somewhere closer to series 6, it was a GREAT show then, I remember loving it and really looking forward to each weeks episode. Its a great example of a show needed it quit while its ahead.

Incidentally, I just found this article. Do not read as it a major spoiler. Apparently the ending scenes were filmed 8 years ago!

You didn't notice that the kids Ted was telling the story to still looked young? smile

Still it's a big achievement that they didn't tell the ending of the show to anyone for so many years.

My brain only told me that the daughter is the girl from Nikita but diden't wonder about the age for a second, as there are a great make up artists, cgi or people who are much older and still look young (For example Emily Kinney from the Walking dead who is 28 in real life and still looks like 16)
