what is that, some kind of 3d printer?
Re: Come celebrate with me....
yes I'm having much fun with it.
Currently I'm trying to script up the process of making tiled lithophanes, I want to make a big radiant Chloë picture.
cool, i wanted one of those for a long time (a 3d printer, not a radiant chloe Picture )

Oh my gosh! Do you know if the .stl files can be found somewhere? Very neat.
Also, holy travel speed batman Looks like 200 mm/s or more.
That's new... geeking out on the speed of a printer
Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

I dont know anything about 3D Printing, but i'm assuming that the .stl file is the model template. I can ask him for it and upload it somewhere for you.

Yes please, that would be neat If it's not too much trouble, would you mind asking him about his travel speed (the non-extruding travel)? I'm curious.
As I said, I don't exactly know what you mean, but ill be sure to ask him about how fast he travels. I'll see him on Monday so will let you know (hope I don't forget!)

Sorry, I'm notoriously bad at explaining what I mean When you prepare the code to print (I wish "reify" were the agreed upon word to use, but it's too late for that I guess) you can decide how fast the nozzle will go when making the perimeters and when making infill etc, one of those parameters to set is how fast it will move when it's just moving between places and not actively extruding plastic, this is the travel speed. In the video it seemed like the travel speed was wicked fast, which I found impressive.
I could be going slower than necessary though. One of the first things I did was a rather tall cylindrical shape and I didn't want it to topple over so I set it low and kept it like that
As promised - This is what my mate said:
"i dont remember the numbers but tell him i kept the defaultss of the slic3r with all things regarding head speed. and the defaults are the ones of the reprap v2"
as for the .stl:

Let me know if you have any problems with the file download.
