Topic: Who is in charge?

Don't you think it is odd that Beckett gives all the orders? She tells the other detectives how to proceed but she isn't in charge of the unit. In reality, the other detectives wouldn't put up with her behavior. I'm starting to feel annoyed with her "know it all" attitude.

Isn't she the team leader?

I don't think so. If she is, it was never made clear.

Re: Who is in charge?

Same, I always thought she was, but even if she isn't technically, she still is. I mean that Espo and Ryan are always going to her for instruction, so whether it was a decision made officially by the captain or unofficially by the boys, she is their team leader.

Re: Who is in charge?

I think that it's an unofficial position appointed by the precinct captain, because she wasn't replaced by a new team leader when she left to work for the Feds. Probably because she has the most experience and she has spent more time on the force than her colleagues.

Re: Who is in charge?

She's the Gibbs of Castle (if you watch NCIS). She is in charge of her unit, while Gates is in charge of everyone.
