Re: Season 1There we go again... will we argue about this now? Re: Season 1No, not a back nine order. Not additional episodes. A SECOND SEASON RENEWAL. IN OCTOBER. What the fuck, FOX? Re: Season 1Trying to define science fiction and fantasy is hard. Many installments cross over that line. I like the definition that science fiction is something that can become true in the future with for example scientific or technological progress. Aliens can come to our world at some point for example. Still some works that i would consider fantasy can still fall into those categories so it is tricky. For fantasy it is even harder to define it. It can have magic, strange creatures or races but those things are absent in some works. Maybe it should have an old element in it that we in the modern age have discarded but still have knowledge of. Still that is very vague and there are works that are sci fi that could fall into that definition too. For example warehouse 13. So maybe it is best to not try and hold the two genres to much apart as they are and will always be close friends and many books, movies and tv-shows will have elements of both. Sure we can label some things but many things thrive because they have a good mix of both. Star Wars for example is often called fantasy in space. Re: Season 1It seems like Fox is taking a page out of cable network playbook. I think its an interesting move on there part. The creators can tell a simple thirteen episode story without shoehorning in filler and extra stuff to cover the back nine. If the quality doesn't suffer I see no harm in this move. Plus with it being renewed it means those who were hesitant to start a sci-fi/fantasy show with how often they are cancelled before finding an audience it might mean more people will check it out. It could also backfire and those not worried the show might get cancelled could check out other shows, but I don't see that really happening. Re: Season 1drizzel wrote:

edit: Then consider how Yoda raised Lukes spaceship from the swamp. No explanation but magic (aka the Force). Also, they totally have swords, a Rancor, and knights. Which story is sci-fi, and which is fantasy again? * "Levi-OH-sa, not Levio-SA" -- Hermione Re: Season 1Orlando wrote:
Are you implying that the meticulous categorisation of fictional worlds is not a worthwhile endeavor? Re: Season 1Orlando wrote:
Oh Re: Season 1Mm, I couldn't really get into it. In all fairness I was a bit distracted though. Re: Season 1Orlando wrote:
LOL, fast change of heart I guess if you turn off your logic it is totally watchable. Re: Season 1pablo-pancho wrote:
Not really, the pilot was also amusing. :D I adore it for how crazy and silly it is, while also not being incredibly stupid and annoying. I'm enjoying the ride. I mean seriously, "the war for independence was a war fought for the whole world" how can you not love such crazyness. Re: Season 1Orlando wrote:
in real world, this is called idiocracy or stupidity. but i will let it be. Re: Season 1I love it how the faith of the world always seems to dependent on a few regular people in American rural towns. Re: Season 1z1rra wrote:
Imagine life without the Americans. We'd have no one who could beat an alien invasion, no one to stop the apocalypse. The world would just be lost. Life just wouldn't be worth living. Re: Season 1The same thing goes with shows in other countries. Shows try to get their attended audience to feel invested. Easier to get invested in a place close to home than far away. Re: Season 1I know John Noble is going to be on later in the season, don't recall the voice on the phone though. Posts: 76 to 100 of 100Forums - Next Episode → Sleepy Hollow → Season 1 |
