Re: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
I dont think it was good or bad but in between. To keep me interested they would need to step it up a notch within a few episodes. First episode felt a bit rushed with them introducing all the characters, building plot/concept and still having a first mission. It might have been a bit to much for a first episode but that should get better.
Cautiously optimistic

It is true it does not really hold without the Marvel movieverse, but that considered, one must live under a rock not to have seen the movies. That said, in true Whedon fashion, there is a lot to built up from the pilot and one may expect overarching stories to take precedent. I enjoyed the way the trailer had everyone on a red herring, kudos. Not great, but I'll keep my eye on it.
Re: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
It was fine. Budget will probably be an issue at some point I suppose.

Re: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Found this re the show:
In an August 2013 Entertainment Weekly interview, Joss Whedon said that "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." is "basically a TV series of 'The Zeppo' [an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer], which was a very deliberate deconstruction of a Buffy episode in order to star the person who mattered the least. The people who are ignored are the people I've been writing as my heroes from day one."
Joss is a creator but is he writing? Do we know how much input he actually has?
Re: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
So how are people concluding after 2 episodes? Guess I'll give it a go though with low expectations.
Re: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Not sure. At the moment I really don't care about a single character.
And i know it's been 2 episodes, but there is normally at least one connection by now. nothing....
Re: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Sadly I thought episode 2 was worse than episode 1.
I'll give it 1 more go but tbh I think its as good as gone from my watch list
Re: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
oddly many shows have problems with episode 2. coincidence?
Re: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
so many shows have poor budget planning?
Re: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
It's simple... the pilot is what the networks care about, because it's job is to gather the initial audience. Sure, some people start watching the show in its second or third episode, but usually there aren't that many of them, especially if it's not a comedy and you have to follow the storyline closely.
Re: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Watched episode 1 and put it in the possible pile. Just got episode 2 to watch and that will be the decider for me.
Re: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Wow, episode 2 was terrible. Vehicles exploding from a single bullet, and an inflatable raft sealing a gaping hole in a plane where everyone is being sucked out, and a way-too-sexualized female commander of a third world military unit...
Every character is a caricature...you can't relate to a single one...and there is no grit! the jokes come too frequently...and they're really predictable...and the acting and dialogue are absolutely terrible. Sam Jackson's cameo actually made the episode even more stupid.

Re: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Well, I expected much more from this one. Will give episode 3 another chance.
Re: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Yeah, painful to watch. I'll keep watching since I love the world it's set in, after being a fan of the movies until now.
I doubt it will last more than a season or two.
