Good episode, hopefully Dexter goes out with a bang.

It deserves it.

I cant help having a feeling that Doctor Vogel is the killer. But then I try to think at it logically and it would be kinda stupid if it turned out that way. Still with so little left of the season what else can it be? The killer must be someone we know well but i dont see it. Split personality Debra that had her other self turn killer during her breakdown? Think we would have had some clue about that if so.

Anyone think Quinn was the person who tried to frame the kid? If so did he kill Dexters neighbour?
He missed out on the promotion and that could make him turn that way. He has shown he can be dishonest under pressure before. With so much focus on him this season it would be possible that he is the killer but I dont see why. He was happy and so much going for him before he missed out on the promotion but by then the killer had already killed some people.

Someone mentioned before that it could be Masukas daughter. Right now it would make the most sense with her flower power spiritual thing. That is always suspicious in a hollywood production.

Looking forward to the last episodes. I liked the first 5 or so episodes a lot while the last three been a bit more uneven but still good. I hope it will have the right amount of craziness and cleverness.

Here's my educated guess:

They said that who ever killed Cassie was let in by her, so it's someone she knows or trust, other words his boyfriend or police (Quinn). It cannot be Quinn however since he didn't know Zach was there so why would he randomly kill Dexters neighbor to set him up?  Also he asked the boyfriend if he has seen Zach there but boyfriend lied when he said he hasn't seen him. My guess is that Boyfriendo is Vogels son or former patient and the actual brain surgeon working under Vogels commands (the song playing while Dexter found Zach was the same Vogel was listening to in the previous). To even suggest someone else as a brainsurgeon is not believable and would be a stupid "rabbit out of the hat" plot device from writers.

That is what I meant with them trying to set up Vogel to be the killer. That and some other things. But it would also make no sense together with some things she have said and done.

The only thing that Ive been able to come up with to make sense of that would be that the killer is trained by Vogel the same way that Dexter was. With a code and what not. Now she is pitting her two "masterpieces" together to see what becomes of it. She gave Dexter his own student but it turned out badly and the killer took him out for it. That way I think Vogels actions this season would make sense and also her reactions to brain in the 8th episode as she was proud of her new students work.
In the past she would have been acting to not let Dexter know the new killer is of the same kin as him and that the point is for them to dance together towards the season finale.
