Going with two modes of thinking at the moment one I think is what the ending will involve of this seasons story (Not the overall Dexter story!)
Masuka's daughter is the Brain Surgeon isn't it too obvious to be the shrink?!?

OR

Masuka is!! - Maybe he knows about Dexter and going at a copycat type storyline, he could have been helping Dexter cover his tracks without Dexter knowing it.
They have always kinda been kindred spirits in the show?
A total long shot I know but it would be a cool final season storyline

Who knows but it will be fun to see how wrong I am!  smile

Here are my two scenarios:

The rest of the season will focus on the Hamilton case and Quinn will play a vital role in the destiny of Dex and Deb.

He finds out about Dex and Deb and what they have been upto and they bribe him with information about the Hamilton case that will get him the promotion (playing into the previous season when he took bribes.)

Or he finds out about them and turns them in thus sacrificing Deb and Dex for his own promotion.

Deb becomes Dexter's partner in the search for a "new serial killer".
At the beginning of the last episode, Dexter is killed by the "new serial killer".
Deb follows in Dexter's footsteps and hunts down the killer. With her "first kill" being Dexter's killer.

They may have noted at the success of "The Closer" spinoff "Major Crimes" which took advantage of the fact that the supporting cast was very strong. Same situation in Dexter, although it's still unclear how "gone" the Dexter character will be by the end of this season.
