Re: Orphan Black
It's an American show I think. It airs on BBC America at least and is set in America. The show isn't one for the slow burn. Each episode they ramp things up. So anyone got any ideas on whose everyone monitors are.

It's a Canadian show set in Canada (Toronto). BBC America are producing along with BELL (Canada), etc...

Re: Orphan Black
well well well. now this show is a surprise. as many shows are ending their seasons and not much new stuff is flowing out i decided to give this show a try. well i though the pilot was rather nothing special until the last few minutes and i kinda did not like the lead actress either. and i will not even go to the gay stuff. but somehow the ending of the pilot left me thinking about the show while i checked out the pilot for Rogue (yawn. can they make even more boring pilot?), so i decided to give this show more chances. and i'm glad i did. to my knowledge this is kinda new story, at least i can't remember shows being made about clones, decent paced action, i even started to like the actress and damn she has hell of a hot ass . so after 6 episodes this is a very good show and each episode has delived it rather well so far.

Yeah the pilot for this show has been it's weakest episode by far.

Re: Orphan Black
That ending reminded me a lot of a Breaking Bad episodes ending. Car out of nowhere

Re: Orphan Black
Not a bad season finale. The cliffhanger depends a bit too much on the state of current patent law but few people will notice that.

Re: Orphan Black
I'm glad I almost missed this, now I get to marathon the whole season at once! This isn't gonna win any big awards but it's highly entertaining!

Ok, I'll give you that one. I meant more like the series it self. Best drama series awards and such.

Re: Orphan Black
Orphan Black is a good example of how Canada has become, in the last decade, a major player in the production of quality TV programming. Decades of tax incentives to bring US TV and movie productions to Canada has helped develop the local talent to US levels. That's rare, because for the last half century the US has dominated production of world class (as in it easily sells worldwide) video programming. Cheaper production tools (digital cameras and editing) are making it possible for other countries to develop competitive international video and the Internet provides a way to publicize the new players. Lots of good new stuff is coming out of this and it will be coming from everywhere, not just NY and southern California.

Agreed...Canada has come into it's own... And to a little degree, Louisiana...

Re: Orphan Black
Yeah, it used to be just NY (the first "Hollywood" a century ago) and LA. Now several states are following BC and Louisiana to offer incentives for video production to set up shop.
