Re: Bates Motel
I liked that we got to see some more human qualities from the brother. I didnt think he was a good character at the start but it seems like he can grow to be one. You shouldnt be upset about Norman and the two girls apples. They are both great and going through some hard stuff so it only makes sense that Norman cares for both of them. I think it is very mean by the writers that they pretty much made it come down to luck fo the draw who he ended up spending the night with. If Emma hadnt been "sick" something could have been different there. I say "sick" cause there was something suspicious about that conversation with her father.

Good point, I didn't catch that, though I found it highly suspicious that emma wasn't in the episode at all.

Re: Bates Motel
Heh, they sure like to get into trouble. First the mother, now the brother. I didn't expect him to react the way he did.

Re: Bates Motel
Some patterns are forming. When Norman sneak away from Norma, something bad happens. When Norman is in trouble, his brother is a knight on a shining motorcycle. When Emma reach out for Norman and is totally sweet and adorable and always there for him, Norman make her feel bad by saying mean things and fooling around with some other girl. I made no screenshots or gifs for this, it was too painful just to watch.

Re: Bates Motel
Hm, the more I watch the show the more I'm convinced that choosing Freddie Highmore for the role of Norman wasn't such a good idea. The show is still reasonably good, but I was hoping it would be much better.

Re: Bates Motel
I think Freddie Highmore has been very good so far. He also fits in with how i saw the character being from watching the original psycho movie. What makes you think it might not be a good choice xrnzaaas?

Re: Bates Motel
It's like every time he has to "go psycho" he's struggling with his acting... I don't know, maybe it was supposed to like that. I admit I haven't rewatched the original before starting with the series and it's been a while since I've seen it.

Re: Bates Motel
Is it just me or are they really exaggerating with the strange/bad characters? First the ex-owner, then the deputy, now a new motel guest ▼Spoiler yep, seen the promo of next week's episode

Sigh, didn't they learn by now that being snoopy often gets you into trouble? And here's something for apples:

Re: Bates Motel
But he picked the wrong person! It should've been Emma or Bradley. Good finale overall... aside from the cliffhanger I also liked Norma acting stressed and how the sheriff resolved the money problem.

Kathleen Robertson (Boss ) is joining the Season 2 cast of A&E’s Bates Motel as Jodi, a smart, sexy businesswoman and artist who’s as hard- charging as she is successful.

Re: Bates Motel
Decent first episode of the new season with an ending that seemed a little bit forced. In fact I don't buy this entire Bradley emo thing. As for the (really) good moments of the episode, I liked Norma's outburst during the town hall meeting and the driving lesson she had with Norman.

Re: Bates Motel
They borrowed the ending of ep 2x03 from a soap opera. ;p Also, I didn't recognize the actor who played Vaughn in Alias at first, but it's nice he's acting again.

I agree, if you haven't been watching this then now is the time to start! I've been watching this since day one and I knew it was going to be great, and boy did it pay off (with 7 more episodes to go).
