Re: Season 7B
All of them sharing a belief that life in the universe originated here. On that planet.
By planet he meant the rock with the monument/obelisk on it, right?
EDIT: I am re watching the start a bit now and I guess that sun-looking planet is a planet and there are 6/7 other inhabited planets in the solar system and those inhabited asteroids are not one of them? This episode is so bloody vague and confusing (to me). I guess the "feel the warmth of the alien sun on your face" camera showing a giant red glowing round thing on the screen bit through me off a bit.
So I DID miss something... like a solar system :D. I can sleep easy now :)
The leaf bit is still stupid though.
Re: Season 7B
I really liked 7x06 (That was the Bells of St. John right). It felt very much like a Doctor Who episode. This newest one felt me like RTD 10th era. For some reason it reminded me of the Shakespeare episode and the witch's.
Re: Season 7B
7x08 - another weak episode...
Re: Season 7B
at least there was davos seaworth in it.
Re: Season 7B
Oh a dude from GoT. I kept wondering who Davos was everyone kept talking about. Don't watch GoT.
I liked the first episode back last two...meh
Re: Season 7B
Very week so far.
Re: Season 7B
I loved Clara/Oswin during her first two appearances, but 706, 707, and 708 all just fall flat in the end. They just sort of end instead of coming to a proper climax. Its as if the writers are trying too hard to make her super special and have her save the day, instead of just being a companion.

Re: Season 7B
Well looks like the introductory phase of Clara the new companion is over. I assume that is the reason this episode was great and the next looks awesome from the preview.
Re: Season 7B
Awesome Ep! Way better than the last 2
10 Years and counting

I thought the exact same thing until I read your edit and rewatched it. So thank you for clearing that up for me. After watching it again, it seems more obvious now:
The "Rings of Akhaten" are like the rings of Saturn, where "Akhaten" is the large, red planet. As shown onscreen, some of the larger rocks in the rings are inhabited.
I guess the "feel the warmth of the alien sun on your face" camera showing a giant red glowing round thing on the screen bit through me off a bit.
Agreed. That line totally threw me off too.
