Topic: 2013 Re-Watch

Just finished the last episode of SG-A 10 minutes ago. It's a shame that they didn't get to do the movie. The name sounded so awesome (Stargate: Extinction) and I would've loved for them to wrap it up better than they did in S05E20.
Maybe they could do a graphic novel or something? I'd read those.

*sigh*

I miss the Stargate Franchise.

I liked Atlantis a lot but when they swapped Weir for for Carter because of some contract thing just made the show awkward. Not that i don't like Carter but Weir was just a better fit.

True. . . I love Amanda Tapping as Sam Carter but it just didn't feel right. I don't know why I felt that way, but it felt like a betrayal when she said that line where she was like "can't wait to get back to Atlantis, we have lots of work to do". Really, she was leaving to go do Sanctuary. Egh.

I may be taking it a bit too personally, but how can one not? We watch these characters they portray for years and they become so familiar. Pretty sure I'm not the only one.  smile

I feel like re-watching SG-1 too. The complete box set that was given to me by my uncle (also a fan) is staring me down right now. o.o

Why do people not like SG-U? I thought it was great. Yeah it was darker then any previous SG franchise, but after Battlestar they had to step up the franchise, and SG-U had really well crafted characters. Granted the show NEVER got anywhere which was annoying, but that only makes its cancellation worse to me as I'll never know what happens to them.

Personally, it's not that I didn't like it, I just didn't like it as much. Mainly for the same reasons you stated. Darker than the previous two, yep. People in general don't take too kindly to change. I try to be more open minded, but it just felt different. Not bad, but different.

back to Atlantis:
I think that their cancellation of the Atlantis movie because of the cancellation of SG-U was/IS bullshit. "Oh, lets scrap what the fans have been waiting for because this self-admittedly different series was cancelled because the fans liked the older one." DAFUQ?

I really hope they change their minds and decide to go through the movie before the actors look too different.  neutral
