What are your favorite special episodes?

Thanks for adding the poll. I don't like Christmas/Halloween etc episodes so I went with 100th (or a smaller/bigger number) episode celebrations, because I'm always curious what they'll come up with. SG1 particularly had hilarious episoder 100 & 200.

I don't mind, I just want them to be good.

Halloween because i don't usually like Christmas and Thanksgiving specials..they're all about family dinners etc..

Was always a fan of Treehouse of Horror episodes

I must say seasonal special eps are usually bad, break the flow of the story, and are most of the time just silly (many a Halloween ep made no sense to me, maybe it's just an American thing I don't get)...

While n-th episodes are sometimes great (SG-1 100 & 200 were already mentioned), most of the time they are not acknowledged at all.

WHat I like best are origin special episodes (flashbacks on 'how it all began') or 'a day in the life of ...' episodes where the focus shifts to another character.  Maybe it comes with age or age of the series, but I almost always like episodes that concentrate on the characters personal life more than regular episodes, especially in procedurals ("Murder He Wrote" was one of the best Castle episodes e.g.).

Christmas/New Year/Halloween episodes somehow always seem forced into the narrative or completely separated from them - I could easily live without those specials.

I like the costumes in the halloween specials of the office.
