I don't know... Rose was kinda sweet. As where Martha was more reasonable... Well, science oriented anyway... Well, more adaptive to new things. But Rose is still my favorite of the two. Never really liked Donna. Too boss-y.

At least we get Martha back at least for the next episode. Hopefully longer. And we all know Rose will return eventually. Just can't wait. That'll be interesting. I just wish they'd bring Captain Jack back, too. But I suppose that would be difficult. At least as long as Torchwood is on. Loved the last few episodes of the second season 'cause of the trio.

I really like that the Doctors "Daughter" didn't die...

So am I alone in thinking this episode was actually kinda shit?

I thought it was to do with her being "new regenerated" (if you can call it that). As when the doctor lost his hand (Christmas Invasion) he grew a new one as he had just regenerated? Also while he out of it (just after regeneration) the same glow kept coming out his mouth every now and again.

I didn't even like the daughter.  Felt like a heavy-handed contrivance.  Very mary-sue ish.  And as a character she just annoyed me.

Not to mention the fact that I got all excited over the promo thinking we'd get some info about the doctor's past.  No such luck.  I thought the explanation for suddenly having a daughter was totally disappointing.

I thought it disappointing as well, how she is the Doctor's daughter. Would have liked it to be something out of his past. I still think she has potential for an interesting plot arch.

What was that bit about how he used to have a family? Reference to the origial series? Only became familiar with the show two years ago. We never got the original here and they only showed the first season of the 2005 one in late 2006.

In the old series, Romana, a time lord and companion, had the capability to control/choose the look of her new body during a regeneration. So, it wouldn't surprise me that a time lord might be able to keep their appearance.
