Re: Season 2
GodZionu wrote:interesting. i think i have read 2nd book at least 2 times, but when i watched 1st episodes in season 2 i did not remember those things. either they have changed the script from the book or my memory is failing me. but watching the episode i realized that the biggest problem this show has is, that it has so little time and so many characters to show. so eventually everyone will get only so little minutes. so in a sense if you have never read the book you will never really understand those characters. i think that if i would have never read the books i would not understand this series.
Yeah seeing the first episode, i had the impression i wouldn't understand whats going on (finished the second book few days ago)..Melisandra poped out of nowhere and they were burning the old gods..wtf? And one difference i spotted is Cleos Frey was replaced by Alton Lannister. I was confused at first..

themanticors wrote:Well I did read the 2nd book and from what i remember what that did happen in the show did happen in the book too. There are a few little changes but not really like any other book adaptation to tv show did make. They pretty much follow more closely to the book storyline than others. .

Re: Season 2
it won't, third book will be covered with two seasons, prolly fourth and fifth also. So that makes seven years, including this one. from book forth to fifth there was a 6 year gab, and it was long. so even if it will take as much time as this one, there will still be 1 year left, and then the sixth book will get two seasons, what means martin still has 3 years to finish the last book. and i do know it's very little time for a whole book from Martin. but taken all that years what he has to finish the last two books, it will be 10 years. 2 books in ten years isn't much.

Re: Season 2
i wonder why they did not start the season of with maester Cressen at dragon-stone. in season one they started with the prologue so i assumed they would with this season. no biggie however, creating extra characters in this story(crying hooker) is like creating new jokes for hitchhikers guide to the galaxy (which they did in the movie and ruined it) there is already to many characters to fit into one show. absolutely no room for new ones. and rekharo does not die. he is mentioned several times in "a dance with dragons". but again, no biggie Also, where is Patchface and Shireen Baratheon? i love HBO

Re: Season 2
i gotta ask. as this episode was so dark and vicious, and i do not seem to remember some things from books, how far has the series gone from the books? the ending part i for sure do not remember. did it happen in the book really?

You really need to reread books. because it was in the book, i even started watching this episode, saying to my gf, that it maybe that's a episode where something "interesting" will happen and with "interesting" i was thinking that shadowy thingy.

Re: Season 2
Ok im a little late but just watched Episode 4 GodZionu wrote:i gotta ask. as this episode was so dark and vicious, and i do not seem to remember some things from books, how far has the series gone from the books? the ending part i for sure do not remember. did it happen in the book really?
▼Spoiler As for the ending..i remember this from the siege of Storms End a little after Renlys death and i think i remember right.. "Following Renly's death, the castellan Ser Cortnay Penrose refused to yield, believing that Edric Storm, fostered at Storm's End, would be harmed. Melisandre gave birth to a shadow that assassinated Penrose, but first she had Davos Seaworth smuggle her through the castle walls so that the spells of the castle did not ward out her magic." Although a shadow killed Renly too, nothing was mentioned @ book .So i suppose this shadow goes for Renly at the series and they won't mention Penrose at all? I was confused myself considering i have read the books As for Arrya i think they didnt catch them that way..But there was a fight and Arya eventually escaped with Gentry and the two other kids. They got them later on a village and they didnt take them directly to Harrenhal.Sure i remember Arya not being a servant of Tywin Lannister too. Anyway i noticed some other minor changes, but i think they change the script a bit this way people wont be confused. That is my opinion of course

rereading he book subject rises more and more. after the extremely boring and pointless episode 5 i feel lik i have been cheated. season 1 was awesome. season 2 purely sucks. i do not remember 2-nd book being so boring.
