they had a hugh achivment with their way of showing us religion because many people didn´t realize how hugh the religiospart of this show was till the end even if it was their right from the beginning of the show... if they had done more with it i guess it would have been to obivios

It's been a while since i've seen BG, so i can't really remember. But from what i remember, the religious part didn't pan out, right? They were supposed to find something, and then they didn't. What made them course threw the universe without a destination. Apart from starbucks being an angel(?) which helped them get there (even tho she didn't know she was one, so they didn't even have to make her an angel imo), i don't see how the religious part was that much of a big deal in the series.

well in your case i would rewatch the show if you don`t want to rewatch it here is my opinion

religion is the redline that connects everything in this show. It`s the one thing that is their from the beginning to the end. You could prohpesies, Visions, Angels and the Hybrieds who can hear gods plan. From my point of view this show is more about faith in a greater power (the one true god) and a religioswar between two humanfactions than it is about finding earth or a War between Man and Machine (this becomes more clear if you watch caprica)

also i think that many people in this show represent something else but since i am not very good with religions and i think they mixed a lot of different ones (including mytolygies) it`s hard for me to figure out who or what represent who or what but here is what i think

Roslin = Moses leading the people to the promised land (Earth/Israel) both died when they where watching the promised land from a high point (Roslin from the Raptor Moses from a Mountain)
Baltar and Caprica 6 are some sort of prophets since the Angels (also in the form of Caprica 6 and Balter) only can be seen by them and talk to them
the hybrids who can more or less hear god are perhapse some sort of priest (or they are the prophets and baltar and caprica 6 are some sort of priest)
Starbuck is some sort of Jesus. She came back after 3 Months he came back after 3 Days and later both "rise" to heaven
what i didn`t figured out is why are their 13 triebes (missing the one that went to earth) and 13 Cylonsmodels (missing Nr. 7) also what the final five are representing
but as i said befor this is all just my opinion and pure speculation
