Re: Lets be friends on STEAM :D
Steam is the worst motherfucker ever. I mean I've downloaded a game, wanted to change language from polish to english... and guess what? I have to download everything again. Thanks, Steam. I really don't want to sound like a nasty troll here. But, c'mon, if you "download" the game you have it installed and ready to play in 1 or 2 minutes. Steam has to log on which sometime takes forever, of course UI has to be updated which takes another few minutes and then when you're ready to play it starts to download gazilion patches and they don't download at full speed.

Re: Lets be friends on STEAM :D
So you changed the general language of the program, which defines the default langague of the games, and you blame Steam? M'kay. But, you know, you can change manually language of each game. Logging in takes forever? Weird, with me and everyone I know it takes second to log in, maybe it's your computer, that's a bit dusty? Updating also doesn't take minutes (as in before). It doesn't download patches, it installs additional things, like making sure you have the newest directx, etc. Which a standard installation process also does this, you are just not aware of it. And, in contrary to other digital distribution sites, you download a installed version of the game, so that's why you need to wait a bit. But, you know, whatever floates your boat.

Re: Lets be friends on STEAM :D
logging in takes sometimes on my computer some time too the thing with the language depends on the game... some have to download the hole game some are smart enough that they only need to download the languagepack

Wow, you sound almost like Steam technical support. ;D Maybe it's me used to multilanguage Xbox games where you must only change language in your dashboard and play a different version. But what got me mad is that Steam didn't inform me this was going to happen and it kept popping an error when I try to run to game. I had to google to find out what's happening. Besides... what's the problem in posting multilanguage games if it's not full dubbing? That's not a lot of data (text + new textures etc) and you wouldn't have to worry about anything. As for logging issues, apparently Steam doesn't like my computer. Definately nothing wrong with my connection, because "downloading" goes smoothly and I don't experience any problems with Origin games (stupid birthday gift ).

Re: Lets be friends on STEAM :D
xrnzaaas, try removing steam and reinstalling. Also, check the settings for you current install. As for the language settings, I can understand that it should/would only download one language. Imagine you have 100 games, each with 100 languages that you will never use. All that disk space being taken up unnecessarily. With Xbox games, they can afford to put everything on one DVD as downloads would be difficult.

Maybe I will, but I'm too lazy right now to reinstall everything (because I assume making a manual backup of Steam games won't work ). And I still think that posting mutlilanguage games would work. Just look at the Xbox games... they have about 7GB's of space to use and they still manage to release multilanguage files on a single disc. Or Steam should at least allow the users to choose which languages they want to download... now that wouldn't be so hard it, would it? As for the game I mentioned yesterday, I've tried to repair it and it downloaded "only" 1GB. Still too much and the validation process (or whatever you call it) couldn't be paused.

You don't understand. I'm talking about specific games... so for example I would like to have Polish interface, some games installed in Polish and some games in English. I don't want to restrict to one language, especially if a Polish version sucks.

You can make a backup within steam itself. Steam, Backup and Restore Games...

Re: Lets be friends on STEAM :D
It's like dubbed movies: no one can guarantee it will be anything decent and you can't complain the store has multiple versions just for a few people. You want the best experience, play it in the language it was developed in. I play Japanese games with Japanese audio and English subtitles, I play Russian games (like Metro 2033) with Russian audio and English subtitles. I don't have a problem with Steam, most of the time. Sometimes it acts up but then again it's usually not a big deal. Most of the time it's just a blessing that gaming can be so easy with friends support built in and features like auto-update and cloud-saving.

Oh, ok. Can you change the settings as soon as the game has started downloading or only if it's finished? Thanks for the tip anyway.

As from what I see, you can change the default language even without downloading it. RMB, option... oh fuck it, wcisnij prawy przycisk na myszy, wlasciwosci, jezyk.

Steam steals all my monies!!! They keep having good games with deals, then offering TF2 items with other games!!! Bought Skyrim 3 months early for the TF2 item. LOL!!!

That illustration is actually very accurate. You should send it to Ubisoft.
