Re: Falling Skies
The two-hour premiere of TNT’s Falling Skies averaged 5.9 million total viewers on Sunday night, making it the No. 1 cable series premiere of the year-to-date. It also ranks as the most-watched debut of any scripted cable series since TNT’s own Rizzoli & Isles (which last July copped 7.6 million viewers), besting both Covert Affairs (4.9 mil) and The Walking Dead (5.3 mil).
Re: Falling Skies
Hm, it was kinda boring the first 30min, but i'll give it a few more eps:)
Thought it was kind of strange they could make so big camps outside without getting attacked. if they took out all the major cities and have killed most of the people in the villages, why wouldnt they be able to kill em all with a few aircrafts?
Re: Falling Skies
I'll keep watching mainly because there is a cruel lack of good shows for the summer but this is not as entertaining as I would hope.
Granted that 2 episodes is not enough to judge but if the rest of the season is like that... too much nonsense.
Pete : Well... you... you told me to investigate ok ? So... she's unarmed.

Something to do with alien scanners not picking up groups smaller than 600 ppl. They upgraded, now picking up groups of 300ppl.
Still think: if youre able to come this far, you should be able to make a virus or whatever, kill us all, do youre thing, and leave.

well reading this comment, makes me wanna drop it alrdy. We are alrdy as far as that, just another demon alien show
Re: Falling Skies
i remember noahs character saying something about the mechs design maybe the children with harness are inside the mechs and thats why the aliens need them why use your own people when you can slave another race to fight for you
Re: Falling Skies
I was entertained. Sure, it was not very original and it suffers from the usual inconsistences when it comes to post-apocalyptic/alien invasion storys but that is why you should use a little "suspension of disbelief" when watching. If it were fully realistic, and logical, there would be no story to tell, because everyone would already be dead from lack of food, diseases, infections, lack of weapons, lack of ammo, lack of water, being killed by other humans and so on. It is not realistic because it is not supposed to be, and it can not be totally realistic, it is quite impossible. I am not expecting realism, or amazing innovative storytelling, i just want to be entertained and it worked. Sorry for you guys who was not entertained.
Re: Falling Skies
i think it was a bit stereotypical in the story and characters, but it was good enough for me to continue watching.

Re: Falling Skies
The feeling I got from the comic book was that the aliens don't really care about humans as long as they don't cause problems. In the comic the aliens let people walk around, not really openly, but they weren't hunted and as long as they didn't fire guns they'd be pretty much left be. But if they used heavier weapons, bazookas and such, all hell would rain on them instantly.
They still took kids and put them in harnesses though.
Re: Falling Skies
I liked the season premiere, the cast seems great and the story so far is pretty good. I did have a problem with the Father and Son having their little argument. That scene just had something wrong with it... either forced or it didn't seem real enough. Regardless of that.. i like the cast a lot and i got some high hopes for this series ;-)
Re: Falling Skies
Well I'm glad I ignored the first few posts. Either I have a very low expectation level or I watched a completely different show. I liked it. It's SciFi so there has to be a certain suspension of belief but overall I was impressed by the premiere. I found it far superior to both V and the Walking Dead.
As has been stated it has Moon Bloodgood and the gorgeous Sarah Carter, what more could a fella want?
Re: Falling Skies
It was ok, the real deciding factor though is ... what the hell else is there to watch lol?
