Topic: the Books vs. the Show
so, how's the story of the books compared to what we've seen in the show so far? any major differences? anything they "forgot"? anything that feels weird?

Re: the Books vs. the Show
Well off the top of my head: - Bran didn't only see Cersei and Jamie fuck, they did a lot of talking and plotting as well - Catelyn wasn't that opposed to Ned going to King's Landing, actually she was the one talking him into it - Daenerys quite enjoyed the first night with the Khal, he caressed her and made her horny and she sat on top of him if I'm not mistaken.

Re: the Books vs. the Show
The world seems a lot less grim than in the books. Viserys isn't abusive enough (not enough time for him I guess). Arya is way too pretty (no pedo), she's supposed to be quite the horseface. As Vana said, Bran heard a lot more in the books, didn't do it justice.

Well, Benjen went beyond the wall the last episode (1x03), so he hasn't had the change to get lost yet

Re: the Books vs. the Show
To make it clear, this should maybe be a topic progressing parallell to the series? So noone gets anything spoiled in the series who haven't read the books.

Re: the Books vs. the Show
Maybe two separate topic's for one episode? 1x03 (show discussion) 1x03 (book comparisasion) As for me, I preffer one topic per episode with show and book discussion together.

Could be difficult when the plot spans over more episodes and different chapters in the book Shows tend to start exactly synced with the script/book and later fork in different directions. Just take The Vampire Diaries for example

Re: the Books vs. the Show
I like the tv show more so far, which is kinda rare for me as it's usually the reverse - I'm more of a book reader.

Re: the Books vs. the Show
Out of curiosity, how many books are there? I mean, will the show end after this season, or will it start over again with the same characters, but different story?

Re: the Books vs. the Show
Thank you so much! For your information: I am young and I read A LOT! However, I read academic articles and university related literature. I also read fiction, but usually i read crime novels; Stieg larsson, Henning mankell, Jo nesbø etc etc. Currently I'm working on Matthew Riley' series. Besides, I just ordered the books online

Re: the Books vs. the Show
I prefer to read non-fiction...it's such a good medium for that sort of material that to read other things seems less desirable....especially when tv/film are such exceptional mediums for fiction. That said, I do like the comments contrasting the show and books...gives information to consider re: the choices the developers of the show have made...we really get the information from the books that adds the most texture to the storytelling of the show without having to put in the time to read it all... -Rob

this season will prolly end with the first book and sadly that ending isn't very far. and next season will have same characters and the same story continuing, because it's one hell of a big and epic story were reading/watching. All seven books will be about the same story we are watching right now. But don't worry, it won't get boring, there's always something interesting happening. ps. can't wait next days after 12. july.

I don't disagree with anything you say. I just find that reading is often more enjoyable than watching Movies/series. Mainly because there is no bad acting when I read

Re: the Books vs. the Show
When someone makes a post with a link saying nothing about the link or what it is about i wouldnt want to click on it. Especially not since it seem to comes from one to me unknown website. With so many posts i guess he wouldnt post something with Virus but without knowing what the website is about it might contain spoilers. Best to avoid for now i think.

Are you kidding me??? you can just hover over the link without clicking it! And the site is not unknown - it's as known as RLSLOG... And as Soleron said , it a link for viewing a post and if you want you can choose to download or not - I never give direct links.... you are too damn paranoid , loosen up a little bit...
