Re: Suggest TV Series
The ones that stick out and should be on your shortlist are:
Breaking Bad
Modern Family
RomeAnd apparently you missed:
Spartacus: Gods of the ArenaThe rest is mehish compared to those
agree 100% four of my favorite shows!
Re: Suggest TV Series
How about one of those threads: do something to the poster above you.
In this case - suggest a new TV series to the guy/girl that posted before you, that you think they'll like, based on their signature watchlist. [If you don't have one, create one, it's easy].
Rules are:
a) only suggestions for the poster before you
b) suggest no more than 3 tv shows at once
c) you can comment other people's suggestions, but you need to provide yours first, and make a clear separation between your suggestion for the person before you, and the comments to other people's suggestions.
What about XIII The Series http://www.prodigypictures.com/xiii_ no mentions, no news... total silence!... The pilot episode was great, continuation from the movie. I strongly suggest this series.
Re: Suggest TV Series
Since most shows are on summer break and summer shows have not yet stared, does anyone have any suggestions for me what to watch?
1st of all not drama.
preferably sci-fi or fantasy. or maybe some good action show. I'm currently in a process of finishing Angel (1 season to go) so i will soon have nothing to watch.
and here is my watchlist.
Edit: I have thought of watching Andromeda (i guess it's the only series left from the old times sci-fi i have not watched) (is it worth it?)
and Supernatural (is it worth it?) (i have seen 2 episodes from season 6 at my friends place and i was not too much impressed(too much talking and too slow action wise))

what about Space – Above and Beyond? but their are only 22 Episodes!
Re: Suggest TV Series
Andromeda is watchable, even if it has some cheap effects and makeup. So do that. Also maybe try "The 4400", it was not on your list? Maybe Sopranos or OZ? The Wire? Those were not on your list either, but maybe you have seen them anyway? Doctor Who? Life? Or recently, Terriers and The Chicago Code? Or maybe you would classify most of those shows as drama?

Yes he would.
As for action shows, 24?
what he said.
i tried 24 season 1, but it did not impress me. maybe when i have nothing else to watch again i'll give it a try.
Godzi watch Supernatural ! The first 5 seasons were awesome . The 6th not so much but it got better near the end.
ok. i'll give it a try.
thnx for the suggestions guys.
Re: Suggest TV Series
As I've got exams for a month and only Arrested Development left to watch, I'm also in need of some new shows I'm pretty much open to anything, as you can see in my watchlist. Give me some suggestions please! Thx.

if you are up to anything, open Orlando's list and compare it with yours.
Re: Suggest TV Series
Watch Parks and Recreation and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Will check out Parks and Recreation! Tried It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia before, didn't find it that funny but maybe I need to give it a bigger chance.
@GodZionu: Difficult to find 1 or 2 shows that stick out in a huge list

If you can get past the first season , then you're gonna see that It's Always Sunny is fantastic
And from season 2 , Danny de Vito joins cast
Same thing with Parks. First short season (6 episodes) is ok , and then it gets amazing

Loving it already, thanks a lot! Got to say it's thanks to The Office that I love awkward humor
Anything else people?
Re: Suggest TV Series
My fiancee and I need a new show...all we've got airing now is Game of Thrones...
Here's my watchlist with shows omitted that I wouldn't want a suggestion based on:
Community
Fringe
Glee
How I Met Your Mother
Mike and Molly
Psych
Rules of Engagement
The Big Bang Theory
The IT Crowd
The Walking Dead
24
Afterlife
Band of Brothers
Extras
Firefly
FlashForward
Huff
Legend of the Seeker
Lie to Me
Life (2009)
Lost
Medium
My Name Is Earl
ReGenesis
Rome
Scrubs
The Office (UK)
The Pacific
Veronica Mars
Now hopefully nobody recommends shows that I've omitted intentionally from the list.
So far, I think I'll be trying out Breaking Bad pretty quick...but a second series might be nice as well...perhaps something in the comedy vein? However, I can't say that I care much for the handheld documentary sort of filming that some comedies have...the only exception is the Office UK, but that took a bit of getting used to.

Re: Suggest TV Series
So why do you guys think those shows would be suited to my taste?
I'm thinking I'd rather not go with a procedural...not sure if that's what Leverage or Flashpoint are...but if they're stand-outs in that category I'd be willing to give them a shot still.

Re: Suggest TV Series
about documentary.
i just watched few days ago, History Channels Custers last man - I survived Little Big Horn and 3 part Stalingrad documentary. if you are interested in history i recommend them .

I recommend the movie Enemy at the gates" and a Russian new movie "The Brest Fortress" and at the end "Das Boot" three different points of view about the WW II.
Re: Suggest TV Series
I've got the first 2 eps, and will give them a try some time in the coming week. I'll definitely let you know what our impressions are once we get around to watching.
We also got the first few Breaking Bad, and if one of these two doesn't work out I'll take a chance on Leverage...though I must say that a 'Modern version of the A-Team' isn't really a compelling claim to me (neither was the claim that a mix between space/sci-fi and western was awesome...but then I totally got Fireflied).

Re: Suggest TV Series
Well, we watched Arrested Development's first two episodes tonight...and...I don't think we'll continue. It's really...more sad than funny. All the characters are really really pathetic people...dysfunction on steroids...
Most of the characters are just slight variants on the same oblivious/stupid character...I can imagine how it might develop...but really, there just doesn't seem to be any substance apart from some pseudo-sentimental bits. I don't even care to root for Michael, as he seems like quite an idiot too except for the fact that in contrast to the rest he's a right genius.
Is there any reason to go on? What redeems the tragedy of it all (if anything)?
