Topic: 1x22 Arrival
Well since the status of the show is kinda unknown (it might be picked up by some other station) this is gotta be the most idiotic solution ever made in TV history.
▼Spoiler every kid knows that the gravitational pull of those 2 planets (earth and the other one) will rip those 2 planets apart in no time. i know that the average IQ of US TV watcher might not be high, but really? This is their solution. I had my doubts for this show in the beginning. All hectic and jumping around in time and place and i did consider dropping it, but finally the show picked up speed and flow, but the final episode nullified everything out. This is pure and simple idiocracy.

lol Godzi... Did you notice what The president's wife said at the end?? I have a feeling it won't get picked up by another network... Overall it was a nice show ,started great , continued weak , went on a break , got the news it will be canceled and returned ok...

yes. another thing that seriously annoyed me. President get's reinstated so easy. nobody even questions him. some punks destroy the plans Sophia and others have planned for years in few moments. like i said in few episodes back that good guys win and sophias people get slaughtered.

I think you are forgeting this is a Sci-Fi show so who really cares about 2 planets being close and ripping each other apart and on another note there really should be a show like this were the bad guys actually win because that would be different!!!
Don't hate the player hate the game. Denaus Up the mighty Fords and the Mighty Storm!! <By the way that is my car hehehehehehe

Why would the planets need to tear eachother apart? You have no information regarding the mass of the alien planet. For all you know it has a very, very weak graviational pull (which is the weakest fundamental force that we know of).

in this case earth will rip that other planet apart. i am no physicist, bu i know a bit about gravity.

Re: 1x22 Arrival
This ending just sucks. A: Cancelled shows shall never end in Cliffhangers B: A planet? HELLO? Why didnt they just beam the people to tibet, and Martinez sends in a H-bomb. THAT is how this series should end Its a ending and has all. Aliens, Nukes, WIN and a END! this just affirms that i will stay clear from any scifi in future (SCC, SGU, V and so on). Its because A: It just gets Dumber. and B: Gets cancelled in a cliffhanger

Re: 1x22 Arrival
Uh. So why doesn't the suns gravitational pull destroy the earth? It's a LOT more massive than this planet most likely. Or why doesn't the moon get ripped apart? What happens would be decided of the speed, direction and mass of the planet, plus if its on the side towards the sun or not. The planet would pull on ours for sure, but we wouldnt be ripped apart, it would just change our orbit. If it's between us and the sun we might be drawn in an orbit closer to the sun, or in worst case end in a spiral. If its not, we might be pulled a little bit away or change the ellipticalshaped orbit.

One possibility is that the device have annulled the space between the two planet just like a gigantic worm hole for a determinate period of time. The planets remaining on their original position, so all the physical phenomena are not in place. Even the deadly radiation affecting the alien planet are not affecting earth. This was the idea to transfer 2 and a half billion people from one planet to another in a massive wave in shorted time possible.

Re: 1x22 Arrival
I think it was a good season finale and a good series finale also. That it has no US-approved Happy Ending © strikes me as original and an ending worthy of a spin-off or continuation. I really didn't think it would end like this because most of "these" series end in some lame as citizen saving the entire planet because he kept staring at stuff. All in all I'm very sorry now the series has (probably) ended, as this has to be an even more dramatic show changer than V's last episode.

Re: 1x22 Arrival
its so funny how you question if the gravitational would pull apart the planets or not, but the fact that they teleported a whole planet is more believable? I will miss the show, thought it was entertaining. And im still very much in love with Taylor Cole so will miss her

I thought it was entertaining! Is the show cancelled or not? And have to agree with Mirano, Taylor Cole is a beauty. I was really hoping that Shawn would start to like her instead.

Re: 1x22 Arrival
Theres no real point analysing what a planet would do to earth. If a planet was just plonked next to earth and not controlled at all, it would spell the end for our planet not doubt. All manner of things would be effected. However, if an alien race is capable of creating an einstein-rosen bridge powerful enough to carry an entire planet? They could probly counteract any type of earth destroying side effect, after all, they want to put thier people on earth, so they are hardly guna rip it apart on purpose. Then again if they could do that, why didnt they just go to any solar system similar to ours and beam thier planet str8 into the goldyzone there and just visit our planet every once in a while. Bit stupid but nevermind.

Star Trek also gave me the same idea but apparently they are using a "universal translator". Go figure !

Maybe every kid knows the planets will be ripped apart but I certainly hope that intelligent adults have a decent understanding of what gravity actually is and know better. Thank you shabby and Andy_Soooon for introducing some knowledge in reply to this idiocy.
