Re: 1x06 A Golden Crown
You're saying that all the time... Can't disagree though.
Anyway, I'm glad the rapture didn't happen so we can have more of this.
Re: 1x06 A Golden Crown
very good episode indeed.
i can't see this show ever fail as long as there is enough money, same writers team and good actors.

[snip]... who else loved the *thump* ...[/snip]
Yeah, that was brilliant - "thunk!" heh.
Harry Lloyd played Viserys brilliantly and had me waiting on tenterhooks for that moment to finally come
Re: 1x06 A Golden Crown

Re: 1x06 A Golden Crown
From the screenshots, it looks kind of legit. I'm going to get it but gonna dump it if the talks about audio being out of synch is true.
E: it's not 720p, but at least with vlc sound is ok and the picture isn't that bad... I'm afraid I can't resist watching.
Re: 1x06 A Golden Crown

Re: 1x06 A Golden Crown
When reading the books i was wondering why Daenerys didnt do anything to stop the crowning. Now when watching the tv series i think she let it happen to test if Viserys was a real dragon. Hence the last comment. Well he was threatening her child and all that too but still i think she also wanted to test his dragonness.
Sansa is starting to becoming her really annoying self. I like the actress playing her even if the character is the way she is.
The star as in so many other episodes was Tyrion. Peter Dinklage is just amazing at delievering the lines and Tyrions wityness. It was funny when Tyrion asked for trial by combat and all the "bravest" knights stepped forward to fight him.
Bronn i also like a lot. Just as greedy, sneaky as in the books.
Renly doesnt seem to be much as in the books. Highly annoying even. I understand why Robert doesnt like him.
I also liked how they were talking about the Mountain Ser Gregor Clegane. Some were disappointed that if he is the tallest and biggest person seen in the series they wanted him to be bigger. But we need to remember that most of the stories about him are myths and talltales just like when they talked about him in this episode. That is one of the things G R R M is so good at. Perception and how things change depending on from whos perspective the story is told.
Re: 1x06 A Golden Crown
I love this series, I even know people who only watch football at tv. Only football, but even they liked this series Just love it.
The day the season break comes I`m going to cry for three days and nights, meanwhile I`ll rewatch everything
Re: 1x06 A Golden Crown
From the screenshots, it looks kind of legit.
HBO started their "HBO Go" service (pay for HBO and watch it anywhere, your TV, computer, tablet, or smartphone) and to kick it off they offered the 7th episode of Game of Thrones as a stream right after this 6th episode aired. People actually crashed their servers for a while, the demand was so huge
So yeah, the 7th episode is legit, but it's not an HD rip, if you care for such things.
Re: 1x06 A Golden Crown
Holy crap!
I haven't had the time to catch up with the reading, so the last scenes with the talk about the Mountain and the ending with Viserys came as a surprise. Damn.
I'm a picture and sound geek, so I'll wait for the 720 next monday.
Re: 1x06 A Golden Crown
Good episode, but is it only me or is everything on a much smaller scale?
Spoiler from books
Re: 1x06 A Golden Crown
i agree that the extremely small usage of direwolves is sad in this show.
and king went to hunt boars not deer.
Re: 1x06 A Golden Crown
There is a 1x07 episode from HBO Go
Watched it!
Re: 1x06 A Golden Crown
i was pleased to see viserys get what he imho deserved, but i wonder why carl drogo did it, was it because viserys was just annoying him at the moment? or because he disagreed with viserys not so subtle plotting and disrespect for dany? because.. the way he did it suggests the latter, but.. he knew this all along, i guess viserys ways didnt bother him back in the day when he first met the targaryens, viserys treating dany as a slave is after all the reason, or at least a prerequisite, for them being together!
I don't think Khal thinks in such depths. I'd think Conan black and white logic more appropriate:
1. Pretty woman -> good
2. Pretty woman with annoying brother -> shrug
3. Annoying brother holds a sword pointed in the belly where my heir is growing -> kill it in a messy way.
