Topic: Worst Sci-Fi cancellation?
I voted for Surface, as I thought it was awesome, and no one really gave it enough credit.
I was way more sad for Firefly or SG1 of course
You?

Re: Worst Sci-Fi cancellation?I voted for WTF - since it's a shame that those shows didn't really have a chance. Although SG-1 with 10 seasons and 2 movies could be considered as proper ending. Firefly was obviously a bad mistake to be canceled. Surface, TSCC and since yesterdays confirmed V are indeed the most missed but not so mainstream shows that should deserve at least one more season to wrap things up and get the story going. DRM "manages access" in the same way that Prison "manages freedom".

Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves. I think that is quite reasonable as all the other shows both was given more of a fair chance (=more episodes) and had a more decent ending. Firefly had the least episodes, and did not have an ending at all. (not counting the movie) SGU had a decent ending, even if it was open. But it probably had more potential for a new season storywise so it should be number two on this list even if it had an ending. Terminator did not really have an ending. More like a "half-ending" where the story ended in one time and place but could have continued in another if i remember correctly. I am not sure though if another season would have been any good with the direction they took it in that is why it should be number three. Just my opinion. Also there are more disappointing cancellations of sci-fi shows than these, like the show Threshold for example. It only had like 13 episodes or something and ended right in the middle of the action. That would be my vote for worst cancellation ever. I got to check out Surface, have not seen that one. 10 2011-05-14 14:57:36 (edited by Halo2 2011-05-14 15:01:10)Re: Worst Sci-Fi cancellation?Definitely Surface. Firefly didn't impress me that much. Perhaps we should introduce a filtering system that would automatically bann every user, for one day, that talks about Firefly in a less than positive tone Re: Worst Sci-Fi cancellation?Mxyzptlk wrote:
Argh, everyone bums Firefly! I agree with Greyhound, it's not that great. There have certainly been far better shows, and there will be even better ones in the future! 18 2011-05-14 21:41:42 (edited by Vana 2011-05-14 21:42:18)Re: Worst Sci-Fi cancellation?SGU for me! ..because SG-1 got its ending, and SGA wasn't that good. And I haven't seen all of Firefly, so the "ending" is yet to be revealed as far as I'm concerned (although I have seen Serenity). Caprica was a shame, I really liked it, but never was a Galactica fan. And V got boring during the first episodes of the second season, so I never finished it. The rest I haven't seen (Surface, Star Trek and TSCC). Re: Worst Sci-Fi cancellation?Farscape was for me the worst. Since its the best ever soft scifi show. Re: Worst Sci-Fi cancellation? What was so great about Surface? It had a pretty dumb premise, and the conclusion was inevitable, even if they didn't make it in the episodes. Spoiler: they would have stopped the creatures. -Rob(voted Firefly) Re: Worst Sci-Fi cancellation?Re: Worst Sci-Fi cancellation?Me... i voted for I CANT BELIEVE THESE SHOWS ARE CANCELLED, because TBH... all these shows were pretty damn good. The ones that hurt the most though were the ones that were cancelled... in like MID SEASON or maybe after a season or two. Firefly was robbed because it only lasted a half a season and didn't get a proper conclusion till the movie a couple years later. Almost the same thing happened with Terminator: SCC .... that was a pretty epic cliffhanger for them to be cancelled like nothing. Now as far as the stargates go.... SG-1 had a really good run... SG:A got robbed after Season 3 where they forced CARTER from SG-1 into the show for contract reasons. The whole vibe of the show got completely shot outta wack... some eps were good but they only got even worst after Woolsey took over in season 5... now that i think of it ... it's a miracle they got a season 5 =p SG:U totally got robbed.... cancell'n after season 1 i would've understood... but cancel'n it now.... makes me just wanna strangle someone. Don't be sad about Point Pleasant, it is on the run now HAVEN - show with a very similar story line. Anytime, Anywhere, Anything!

So did I vote - I'm still "WTF" sorinri wrote:
You are right - never thought about that. I liked Point Pleasant, it was set in a similar environment but it was easier on the eyes than Haven sorinri wrote:
I thought about that, but those shows are only borderline sci-fi. You could also include The 4400, Bionic Woman, Defying Gravity, Dollhouse, Invasion, Journeyman, Outcasts and Persons Unknown Re: Worst Sci-Fi cancellation?TSCC and SGU Posts: 1 to 25 of 49Forums - Next Episode → -- Polls → Worst Sci-Fi cancellation? |
