Re: Best TV catchphrase?
And no need for the "Oh you poor things" comment, Orlando. I find this site quite elitist sometimes. How dare anyone ever question the opinions of some of you here.
interesting.
when i was not lazy and i posted the polls, i had most of the polls being made up by any user who came up with good poll and poll options posted.
if you so pissed about the poll options, then why not go to future poll suggestions, write a good poll that has not been here, loads of options to the question, and i'm 100% sure your name will be added to the poll. Like this:
Best police inspired show (by Proppi)
(if you click on the recent polls you can see that.)
Re: Best TV catchphrase?
Weird discussion in here
And I completely and utterly dispise the argument, that this forum is elite and only mods/admin can say what they want!! Anybody can say in here what he wants as anybody is entitled to his opinion. And in the rare case - if someone (admin/mod/guest/whoever) posts something 'really out of order' - it will be dealt with in a fast and objective way.
Anyway - I like this poll. It's not the best as it could be, but it never was and never will and it never should be

You mean well KB, but some people just don't grasp the idea of an entertainment poll
How about the catchphrase of all internet and email users everywhere - It's so hard to convey tone!

I went with D'oh! As toidol said, it made it into the Dictionary.
Bazinga would be a close second.
(it's been soooo long since I posted anything it took me a couple of minutes before I remembered how too) D'oh!
Re: Best TV catchphrase?
Wow, this is a hard one indeed! For me it's a pick between "d'oh" and "indeed". D'oh because it is probably the most widespread well-known catchphrase, but I had to go with my heart and choose Indeed because of my lofe for the show
Re: Best TV catchphrase?
Damn, what did I start. Oops!
One could also add:
Fantastic!
Allons-y!
It's bigger on the inside.
Not exactly a catchphrase this last one, but hey, it would go well with Michael's 'That's what she said.'

Re: Best TV catchphrase?
So it's not really the "Best TV catchphrase", more like "What the best TV catchphrase out of these shows, some you may not have even watched?"
What you're saying is simply stupid. There's no possible way to feature each popular catchphrase, even if the poll would have 9999 options. And the purpose of this thread is to comment on your vote AND on catchphrases that didn't make the list. Also - the suggestion thread is always open to new ideas, but somehow I don't see people posting there. It's probably better to whine afterwards.
As for the poll, I'm boycotting it, because I don't understand why 'Damn it' was removed. It was used so many times in that show and it became so popular, because they couldn't swear on national television, that I just couldn't think of a different set of words that remind me of 24. 'How you doin', 'Indeed' and 'Good news, everyone' also should be removed in that case, because they're not used exclusively in Friends, SG1 and Futurama. Besides, 24 is not just some show like all the others. It lasted eight seasons, offered tons of great moments and is considered by many as one of the best action shows ever made.

im sorry you feel this way gray.
could you maybe point to an example so that i can better understand what you mean? or is it more like a general feeling?
I can't give you a specific example, Niv, no. It's more of the feeling that comes across by some of the posts. And I know for a fact that I am not the only member of the forum that feels the same way, but no, I'm not mentioning any names.

Well I don't think it's stupid at all, it's how I feel, but thanks for that.

Too late for me to boycott the poll - and since "Indeed" made it I'm happy.
But you are absolutely and 101% right!

This is indeed weird
I also want to know why you and some other feel this way, because I absolutely feel the opposite. The only thing i can imagine is, that in here we are a few heavy poster that may set the tone of the whole forum a little. Hence a once in a while poster might be unrecognized. But nobody is ignored!
And of course if you state that Firefly is the worst crap ever, then rest assured that you will be left outside alone
Re: Best TV catchphrase?
Tough choice, but ended up going for "Good news, everyone!" as it was the only one that made me chuckle when I replayed them in my head.
My all time favourite though would have to be "I've made a huge mistake...." from Arrested Development.

Re: Best TV catchphrase?
i went with "indeed" for two reasons... 1/ i just, seconds before opening the front page replied to two text messages to different people with one word... "indeed"
2/... the rest are kinda sucky
