Topic: Britannia

The story is set in 43 A.D. and charts the Roman invasion of what would become Great Britain. The determined, yet terrified, Roman Imperial Army returns to crush the Celtic heart of Britannia, a mysterious land ruled by wild warrior women and powerful druids who can channel the forces of the underworld. Can't believe this show has no topic already. Anyway, it's awesome. Season two even better than season one.

Re: Britannia
Yeah I really like it. Re-watching series 1 as I figured I'd have forgotten most of it. Does anyone know who the actress who plays a druid (has minor scenes throughout the season) who says to The Outcast that she will eat his eyes (if he returns)? That's in the first ep season 1
I don't watch trailers. I never have and I never will. I don't like Tom Cruise, James Cameron and there's lots more to add, give me time I don't like Star Wars or Star Trek or any superhero *hit

Cool, thanks. I'd seen the name on wiki and googled it but none of the first images I looked at looked anything Willa! And yet I was so sure I'd seen her in something.

She plays a bigger part in season two as well.

Re: Britannia
Got to say that re-watching the first season was a great idea as it was probably better than I remembered. Now I've seen the first ep of season 2 I'm really quite impressed. The cast is great and the script is fun but pretty heavy when it needs to be. They have done very well with what sometimes looks like a limited budget - at least limited for a fairly epic piece. Well worth watching. Unless your after a history lesson, I mention this because a British person I know didn't like it because it wasn't historically accurate. Which is bollocks of course as it isn't even pretending to be factual. I mean mountains in Kent, your 'avin a laugh.

Yeah I'm grabbing the first season to watch again so I can show it to my viewing buddy. It's an awesome series.

Re: Britannia
I've got through to ep 3 now and I love it. Looks like me and you Lollie and the only fan boys! I've gotten one friend in the UK to watch it and she liked it but it seems to have gone under too many peoples radar for some reason. There must be others on here or love it! But I notice its rating is a measly 3.75. It's got to be worth 4.5 I'd say. And that's in real world 1-5 rating.

Re: Britannia
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the lead has recently been seen on the series Season 1 of Yellowstone, right ? This show Britannia is right up my alley, hence I have added it and will surely get to it. Thanks for the recommendation. Thing is, I'm a little behind these days. Somehow, with returning series and streaming outlets, I have accumulated 26 shows that I'm actively attempting to watch. There is certainly a lot of "good" to go with the "bad" television out there, I will admit...

Wasn't it just. The whole thing was glorious and hilarious and nasty and dark.

Re: Britannia
Yeah, the first time I watched the first season I felt the humor was a bit jarring at times but not on the second watch or on my viewing of the second season. And of course, as you say, when it wants to be dark it gets it right.

Re: Britannia
That's because you've added an inactive duplicate to your watchlist. The correct show page is Britannia (with two N's & only one T). I'll send santah a quick PM about deleting the inactive show page.

Re: Britannia
The link I included in the first post at top of this page has the correct link (and spelling) for this show. It's as Scorpius said (a bogus listing exists for this show). Season 2 is awesome!

Totally agree. Dayum, grabs your attention from the first episode and doesn't let go (ep04 so far). Series I refer to as one of those "hidden gems". Peace.

The funny bits are funnier than that - it's more the Monty Python school of comedy than Carry On series I think. Like if Monty Python took the strong hallucinogenics instead of just smoking pot. Then went on a murder spree.

I've added it to my watchlist last week, and I plan on watching it before the year is out. So much stuff to catch up on, but I will make room for this since it seems to be right in my wheelhouse of enjoyment.
