I actually think it was good casting. It shows that she is smart and doesnt give a crap about anyone else or what others think. Quite happy with her tbh.

Tbh, Season 4 starts to annoy the hell out of me. Yes, sure... the over-the-top wokeness of the previous seasons was kind of playful tongue-in-cheek references. But with the TruthCon, Firecracker and all the pervs they just overshoot by a mile. Don't even get me started on the Frenchy business.... I mean... why?

And Sister Sage, in her "Whoopie-in-Spandex"-suit as well as her story-arc, which sadly drives the main theme this season - is just aweful.

Now it's mostly been co-opted as a wide spread hate term against anything left-wing, which this show definitely is as the entire Homelander storyline has been parodying the Donald Trump campaign for some time now. Also the portrayal of the anti-Starlight chick that can do sparkles from her fingers is an... under exaggerated version of right wing media figures like Stephen Crowder. The fact that the right wing group was shown as a conspiracy theory crowd as well.

None of that specifically fits the definition of woke, or the original version of woke in any way. It fits the right wing version though which again is anything vaguely liberal.

As far as it not being racist or homophobic to be anti-woke, you usually see people complaining about representation of either gay (in this case penises), or minority actors. However, being 'anti-woke' absolutely originally stems from racism.
