Re: The Boys
Hmm, am I the only one saying "meh"? Sure, there is gore... unnecessary violence, foul language, sex, kink and drugs... etc. But... I had to try three times to get all the way though ep1 without falling asleep. I was just BORED to hell. I took 2 sessions to go though ep2. And yeah... ep3 was a bit better. But still.... I am still not biting my nails waiting for the next episode to air. I couldn't care less.
I loved season 1, season 2 was alright but, for me, lost a bit of the vibe. Season 3 feels just lifeless and boring.
And I just can't stand Hughie... pathetic looser. The only two characters which are remotely interesting are Homelander and Butcher. I mean.... Frenchie and the Female are good supports I enjoy to see on the screen... but the rest is just awful.
I have a feeling they build up a franchise and ran out of ideas real quick. And just lining up ridiculous gory stuff scene by scene, doesn't make it good entertainment.
Hope same won't happen with the Peacemaker... but I guess it will.

Re: The Boys
seems like many here are turning against the show? I can't see the show has changed much from season 1&2, more of the same gore and langauge.

So I take it you do not want the show to do a Flash or Arrow and go on for 7 or 8 seasons?

More of the same, doesn't make it very a great show. Season 1 had the benefit of being something fresh and new. And a fun ride. In season 2 some of that already evaporated and honestly I didn't enjoy it that much... and the first three episodes in season 3 IMHO have not been particular great if you are looking for more than gore and foul language. Like a good story, or interessting characters.

I think there are VERY few shows which managed to run more than 3-4 seasons with consistent quality...

A singer who appeared on Solid Gold I believe.
Re: The Boys
Yes. I caught the very tail-end of Solid Gold's run in the 80s as a youth when she was the host. I think the 5th dimension was already a former band before I was born.
Re: The Boys
Yeah, being Aussie I watched Countdown then, we only had Molly Meldrum's ugly head to look at as a host lol.

This is what superheroes needed, humanity. love it!
Re: The Boys
only up to ep 3 of new season but the story aint so compelling here. The supes dont do any supe shit at all. Its basically a soapie with everyone sort of just pussyfooting around.
The French guy and the asian girl is an utter cul de sac of a plotline.
As is Fishboy.
Supergirl is just a normal dull high school cheerleader type and Hughie is a drip.
The only fun I'm getting is from the two kiwis; Karl Urban and his roller coaster of a changing kaleidoscopic accent and the All-World Interplanetary Bastard that is Homelander.
Currently this telly show is 3rd in the queue after The Old Man and Sherwood.

I still liked it, always got a laugh out of me.

factoid. did you know that Stargirl Brec Bassinger put in for the Starlight role. Now that would have been strange!
Re: The Boys
This show is getting really bad. What did they think more nudity and raunchiness and not much super power and story line is supposed to be better? NO thank you. It has gotten very dumb. I am done!
