Swamp Thing centers on CDC researcher Abby Arcane. When she returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland - only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp's mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous - and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.
This is a new show. I only had time to watch the first 5 minutes, but daaaaaamn! Great start! Way better than I expected. Will watch the rest later. IMDb seems to agree, the show has an initial 9.3/10 rating!

Finished the first episode. Wow! Great special effects, way better than what the average TV show offers. Again: this was way better than I expected. Highly recommended!

We'll have to see, it wasn't as good a pilot as other DCU shows.

Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

Really? I thought the Titans pilot was pretty bad but the series turned great after that. I thought this was pretty solid.

I feel that DCU is dark enough without sunglasses  I have no previous knowledge of Swamp Thing, didn't have from Arrow either but I'm still watching that. We'll see after a few more episodes. Maybe it'll get better?

I've stopped watching Arrow after 2 seasons because the production was just too cheap and some of the characters/acting a bit too wooden (for my taste), Swamp Thing E01 was so much better IMHO!

I'm just waiting for the season to wrap up so I cant binge all 10 eps in a furious blaze of glory.

According to Deadline, Swamp Thing is a casualty of AT&T’s recent acquisition of the DC Universe parent company, WarnerMedia. Earlier this year, we reported the show’s first season was cut down from 13 to 10 episodes. Now, it seems the future of the entire streaming service may be up in the air as a result of the business acquisition.
Source This much I feared once I first found out about the acquisition. The future doesn't look very promising for DC Universe.

This much I feared once I first found out about the acquisition. The future doesn't look very promising for DC Universe.
What a shame, the DCUniverse shows have been a million times better than the CW Arrowverse. If they want to cancel something, get rid of the abomination that is Bat-Manhater.

What a shame indeed. I was really waiting for this show. Alan Moore's Swamp Thing was one of the best comics ever.

I downloaded the pilot and before I could watch it found out it had been cancelled.....that sure was quick! DC sure is hit and miss, I had high hopes for the franchise...sigh.

Well, apparently they will be releasing all ten episodes... the question is, whether its even worth it to watch all the episodes since I cant imagine they'll finish it off properly.

As anyone who has ever worked with Git should know, when branching is involved, almost nothing can be as destructive as a merge conflict.
Might try a rebase instead? That article contains a big disclaimer on top saying that that's not the real story now.
