Topic: Warrior
Check it out here Warrior is a gritty, action-packed crime drama set during the brutal Tong Wars of San Francisco’s Chinatown in the second half of the 19th century. The series follows Ah Sahm, a martial arts prodigy who immigrates from China to San Francisco under mysterious circumstances and becomes a hatchet man for one of Chinatown’s most powerful tongs. Imagine Deadwood with the town on the brink of a civil war. Now imagine that, into that floridly verbose fray, enters Caine from Kung Fu. Now imagine that, as the heavens intended, Caine was being played by Bruce Lee. That's something resembling the conceit of Warrior, Cinemax's new martial arts Western, which was created by Jonathan Tropper (Banshee) based on the same original Bruce Lee concept that Lee's widow claimed (and the production studio denied) was lifted and reimagined as Kung Fu. Boasting Justin Lin among its executive producers, but disappointingly not among its directors, Warrior only rarely lives up to the lofty heights of that conceit, but since the full realization of that conceit would be the greatest show in the history of television, it's an unfair standard to hold anything to. 'Warrior' Review
A friend of mines started watching this and recommended that I "get with the program asap!" So I will give this a spin eventually. The last time Jonathan Tropper brought a television series to Cinemax it was Banshee, and now, a martial arts epic set in mid-19th century San Francisco, the idea of which comes from none other than perhaps the most famous martial arts master of all time, Bruce Lee. I mean, hey, it's not like you have to twist my arm and slam my face against the screen to get me to watch this.

This show deserves more praise. Today’s episode was amazing! Season 2 has been even better than the 1st. Very entertaining!

I have to say that yesterdays Warrior episode, s02e09, is one of the best episodes I've ever seen, of any tv-series. Wow, just wow!

Re: Warrior
This show wasn't even on my radar until I saw the thread here. So far have watched the first 8 episodes of season 1. Yes, it keeps me coming back. I think my worse complaint with this program and another I've watched recently is that it's a little strong on gore and violence, and I could do without the soft porn but otherwise it's an interesting story. I'm thinking now that these actors don't even "act" like they're having sex for those scenes, they are actually having it in front of the cameras. It disturbs me just because. This is not the time or place to discuss it though.

well it is going to get a lot MORE GORY (it was at times too much even for me to be honest - just way too much for a kung fu film too) and also a lot more deep (no pun intended) and is just truly amazing. season 2 was AWESOME! Acting is brilliant at parts, and i feel deeply involved with the characters now season 3 cannot come soon enough. EDIT: DAMN - is season 3 not even an option? i am sad now.

Re: Warrior
Too much violence for me. I checked out a few eps in the first season and gave up and checked out 2x09 because i was curious but still too much vioence and gore for my liking, even tho i like martial arts stuff and liked Banshee a lot aswell. Maybe there is already too much stuff going on in the world right now, that i dont need that in the tv shows aswell or maybe i'm more of a softie by now

Re: Warrior
Warrior has indeed ended and it sucks. I guess the reason is that Cinemax is stopping making original series. I think the only glimmer of hope now is that it'll be picked up by a different network, like HBO MAX. At some point though, the actors will look for jobs elsewhere.

Re: Warrior
All done. I don't care if it never gets picked up. If it does, I'm watching again, if it doesn't, good. I hate so many characters by now.

Yeah I received it too. I hope someone picks up this show, I thought it was great. I hate when good shius get canceled. Cinemax decided to stop doing original programming.

Re: Warrior
Another notification from Next-Episode. "Warrior is now resurrected." Yeah, sure! Stop teasing! But this time it looks a bit more promising as HBOMax has picked up the show. Just stream it in the background or something. https://bleedingcool.com/tv/warrior-jus … e-seasons/ Fingers crossed.

This is getting frustrating where are they getting the idea that it's been resurrected, I mean I pray it does but right now there's no indication that that has been done so why keep changing its status. It's canceled. just because you can watch it HBOMax isn't a resurrection.
