Let's hope they're not playing it during an episode then

Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

Re: Star Trek: Discovery
401, well, on top of an irritating cast, retracing old Star Trek paradigms felt tedious. This entire episode played out like the new movies, Star Trek, Star Trek Into Darkness, and Star Trek Beyond. ▼Spoiler Contact with an alien species doesn't work out. They jump off a cliff. Pretentious speech. Distress call. Ride along with a superior officer who questions decisions. Narrow escape. Kobayashi Maru debated. Planet destroyed cliffhanger. Rinse lather repeat. Great production quality but Ugh. 4/10. I still don't buy into the facade of these actors being these characters. They're supposed to be super sciencey military people. Tough section 31 Geeks. The casting is so bad it takes me out of the fiction. On top of that, the attitude of self empowered arrogance and pride, where, they're all each others cheerleaders, is so repellent, it's a real turn off. The presidents thoughtful and balanced perspective about Michael is what the story needs, if only she wasn't implemented in an antagonizing light.

It is a decent enough start. Though I wish they had got rid of Tilley. What faction of "inclusive" is she, or atleast get her to go on a diet?

What are you talking about specifically? I must have missed that. I've enjoyed the first episode, even though not everything was totally logical.

What was with the stupid flame bursts from the bulkheads? Completely silly.
DRM "manages access" in the same way that Prison "manages freedom". http://xkcd.com/488/

Yes, that was a bit too much! I should have checked the end credits for Michael Bay...

Never noticed them until now, there were flame bursts on the bridge of Discovery in the middle of the episode. Pretty dumb. Good catch Wizard.

Weird, in 4x2 again... so much so that I find it a bit distracting. But I won't stop watching the show because of this.

Re: Star Trek: Discovery
Sci-fi shows in space (preferably with with aliens) has been in short supply for ages now (I miss you Farscape and Stargate), I will take what I can get... Less dumb than Doctor Who, one has got to curb their expectations. Still worth watching, just not that excited... Waiting for expanse season 6... lacking on aliens, but great on all the other stuff....

ditto. I dont like these eps which just involve lots of noise and jiggering the cameras around. And all these happy smiling faces........what are they on? Lost in Space returns within a week? Invasion? thats a joke, the aliens are scarcer than hens teeth

I always find it funny when there are explosions on a Star Trek ship because it looks like pieces of concrete shatter all over the place. Are the interiors of Star Trek space ships made of concrete. Elon, take note! Wizard wrote:What was with the stupid flame bursts from the bulkheads? Completely silly.

Why silly? This is sci-fi, not sci-fact. It's all done for dramatic purposes, it's not supposed to be scientifically accurate. If it was there are literally hundreds of things that you could say were silly. But that aside, I'm so bored with Discovery. It's still not Star Trek to me, not even close.
2020. Meh.

Re: Star Trek: Discovery
I think that silliness is intended to keep it visually in spirit with old Star Trek style? Personally i am more annoyed with all the "emotions" everybody has in this show especially when it interferes with their professionality. For me the point with military and similar hierarchies should be that they can work together professionally and follow orders no matter if they like each other or not, without bickering like children.

402 initiated my gag reflex, ready to puke! Didn't finish. Takes hate watching to new heights! Not Star Trek! Ugh. I find it so overly sentimental and emotional it's nauseating! Can we get some testosterone on this show please?

Yes, they finally found a way to distribute the show globally after the backlash from the last minute decision to remove it from Netflix. https://blog.trekcore.com/2021/11/star- … vember-26/

Re: Star Trek: Discovery
That last ep wasn't too bad... I can't believe there are 3 active Trek shows on now... and two of them are pretty darn decent. Fingers crossed this is the season Discovery joins those ranks!

Re: Star Trek: Discovery
Nope, that's it for me. I am dropping this show now. I predicted most of what was going to happen, so either I have the gift of sight or it's very lazy and predictable writing. It started out OK, but has just gotten worse.

Same here. This is about as far away from Star Trek as possible. The woke agenda alone is agonizing enough. Bring back The Orville. That is more Trek than any Star Trek will ever be. If I have to see any more tears or lesbians I will hang myself. Can I even say that now?
its not as bad or pretentious as "Invasion". Yes the characters are clearly on happy juice. And the woke binary person, that person with the short hair was last season and hoping that will be end of that. You will have to wait some time for Orville. Though The Expanse starts again - will that do? Though that black woman who got trapped in her space ship bomb last season I wish she not got out..
