The series follows the adventures of Dirk Gently (Samuel Barnett), an eccentric "holistic detective", and his reluctant sidekick Todd Brotzman (Elijah Wood).

i dunno, i kinda felt it follows the same quirky path the books laid down... but it's also been a decade since i read them... i liked the tiny references to the books [the sofa stuck on the stairs is one thing stuck with me for years after reading the books]... and similar to Adams updating the Hitchhikers story for different mediums, the Gently tv series felt like a natural progression... overall i had fun, and Fiona Dourif gets MVP hands down...
