Re: Westworld

S02, imo, sucked, but this trailer looks promising.

Looks great! smile And totally reminded me of the (recommended) Arrival movie. cool

Re: Westworld

Oooh.
The dates seem very strange - way into the future.

DRM "manages access" in the same way that Prison "manages freedom".

Well, since 'Westworld' fans officially figured out when the show is taking place, the dates are only a bit in the future when seen from season 1. I believe the Date Announce teaser is just trying to connect the next season to our present time in a playful/enticing way. smile

Westworld | Official Season 3 Trailer | HBO

Daaaaaaamn! Looks good... smile

I found this comment there interesting:

The creators did say that the 'actual' show starts in season 3. The first seasons were supposed to be backstory.

wow...what a transformation from S2...this is looking really good.

Don't you just love robots smile

And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes....

Re: Westworld

Now even more! smile

Re: Westworld

I like to think i'm sort of following whats going on as I watch this show but ffs half the time just when I get a handle on a scene, about 3 minutes in they then whip the rug out and segue to 30 years into the goddamn future. wft. I'm of middling intelligence and do not have a phD in bloody TV. Hardly helping themsleves with the overwrought cryptic bollox dialogue either "the game is the centre and the centre is the game look backward not forward to find the centre of Ford" oh fuck off

after the slightly slow burn of season 1, s2 was awesome. The two chicks Mauve and Delores on the rampaaage. Can see a season 4 with them out in the real world, hunting down the Delos head honchos with their completely lifelike zombie army in tow

Re: Westworld

Found on https://www.cancelledscifi.com/2020/03/ … rd-season/:

Westworld does not count as a breakout hit for HBO, but it has drawn plenty of acclaim and has performed fairly well. Word is that showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy have signed on through a fifth season, so we may be able to expect a couple more years from this show.

Sounds good. smile

Re: Westworld

So seasoon 4 in 2022 and 5 in 2024.... that's a bit of a wait.

...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?

Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

I like their slow pace... at least it's reliable. smile

grotty sandy wild west. The futuristic houses, it was like "Billions" but with way more billions. Where's the cops though? No people around, just a casual shoot-up in the park? Thought the future would be totalitarian police state?

Re: Westworld

Those "jobs" Caleb was getting through the app looked like something you'd get if you were playing GTA or Saint's Row. Like maybe he's in a simulation. Show could go on forever on plus side, maybe by season 40 we get into the real world.

Re: Westworld

Like most others it seems, I too found season 2 a let down after season 1. One wasn't as good as it could have been but they did drop the ball a bit afterwards. Season 3 has started well. I'm totally rooting for Dolores, love that character.

I kind of think I need to watch one and two again but I'm just not sure I can be bothered. I should be looking for a job. I hear undertaking is a good career move at the moment.

Fun fact: Angela Sarafyan who plays prostitute Clementine in season 1 was in Alex Cox's Repo Chick. That's one for film buffs!

That's not the future I've ordered. cool Maybe the future has less police, everyone is (mostly) responsible for himself/herself?

The dirty jobs app Caleb uses might be the logical forward projection of Darknet markets like Silk Road. smile

Given that using the app is probably highly 'jailable', I found the apparent lack of encryption surprising.

Re: Westworld

I decided to go back to the beginning. Good choice. S1 Ep1 is fantastic. Looking forward to rewatching the rest.

And I still love Dolores. She is going to kick some serious butt in s3 and all the power to her.

e2; I'm of middling intelligence and just barely followed along with the storyline. BUT I can't span out and enjoy the scenery, or drift off into another robot-rooting reverie. Have to concentrate on what they're saying and constantly extrapolate it to my "understanding" of the show to date. Is that entertaining? I guess it must be cos I'm doing it. But how do really thick bastards get on watching this thing? They must be totally fucken lost with the shifting sands-of-a-plot with this shit! "Looks nice but what the ARSE is going on here?"
