That was not a Geordie accent.  I have no idea what it was, but it was not from anywhere I have heard of.
I have family in Newcastle, where the Geordie accent comes from.

The wife and I both thought it was really bad Scottish, but it seems it was just really bad.

DRM "manages access" in the same way that Prison "manages freedom".

Probably a budget thing. Lotsa acting talent in NYC and LA (where the show is filmed) but how many actors there who can handle a Geordie accent?
