Topic: RSS feeds?

Hi!
It would be great if there was RSS functionality that let you show different stuff.
like:
/rss.php?feed=today&user=meuser&k=sdsdklneriq0kn342nk
Will show the user "meuser" all his shows that air today
and
/rss.php?feed=yesterday&user=meuser&k=sdsdklneriq0kn342nk
Will show all show from yesterday.

You could add more stuff like feed=tomorrow and keep build on new stuff to feed to users.

/G

To much time on my hand

Re: RSS feeds?

Sorry for bringing this 4.5 year old post up, but it seems this is still not available and is actually the main thing I would like to use next-episode for. Having a feed for today's (or tomorrow's) shows would be great in order to get an overview of today's schedule. Or am I missing an option to do that (using Premium)?

I just look at the right-hand column on https://next-episode.net/ or at the app widget.

Re: RSS feeds?

That's one option, but doesn't fit my use case ;-)

I want to have it readily available with other sources (non-TV related) from a single point ... currently that is my RSS reader. Also an RSS feed would be nicer to integrate it in e.g. automations or other software that displays the schedule in a custom format. Would also be nicer for integration in media center solutions (vs having custom API).

I am also using it as a kind of todo list, allowing me to mark an episode as seen (or not of interest). I could of course use the website, I guess, but I am already used to do it in my RSS reader along with other stuff. As the information is already available and displayed on the website, I am just wondering whether it already is or easily could be made available as an RSS feed, too.

Re: RSS feeds?

I see. smile Let's wait for santah's reply.

It is not already available, but it wouldn't be very difficult to add it and I can see how it can be useful.

I don't remember seeing the original post too, I must've missed it.

I'll try and set those feeds up within a day or two and will let you know!

Thank you so much!

Re: RSS feeds?

The new feeds are now available on our RSS page here:

Let me know how it works for you!

Re: RSS feeds?

Thank you! I've subscribed now and use it for a few days and will let you know.

Re: RSS feeds?

So I've been using it for a few days, and it works nicely (today feed). Thank you very much for this very quick response.

Looking at the source, the guid is just an URL to the website. This seems to be contrary to the specs that require this to be unique per item (https://www.w3schools.com/XML/rss_tag_guid.asp). For me it does not seem to matter in Feedly (right now), but I can see where this could be a problem for other tools or in the future.

One minor improvement suggestion (not that relevant for me, but maybe others would appreciate it): if the <link> would point to the episode on the page, this would be nice to look it up. Or <guid> could be set to that, this would solve the problem of uniqueness as well :-)

Re: RSS feeds?

Thanks, unfortunately we cannot link directly to Episodes (as we don't really have a page here for every episode), but I updated the link and guid so that they make more sense now smile
