Topic: Minority Report

http://s4.imgload.info/3s2hgujve1vr875.png

This series is envisioned as a sequel to the movie. It is set 10 years after the end of Precrime in DC. One of the three Precogs struggles to lead a "normal" human life, but remains haunted by visions the future, when he meets a detective haunted by her past who just may help him find a purpose to his gift.

This sci fi crime show fills a bit of a gap left by Almost Human (which should not have been cancelled :3). Going to give it a shot and see if they make something good out of it or if it's just yet another crime/CSI show, but set in an alternate/possible future, in a half ass attempt to make it seem different to all the others. Here's to hoping they don't screw up another sci fi.

Re: Minority Report

I wasn't impressed tbh. I may give it a few episodes but I didn't really like either of the leads and if anyone can't work out who the big bad of the series will be within the first 2 minutes, they need a slap in the face.

Re: Minority Report

Wow, this was awful.  The acting was bad, the 'interface' interaction was bad, the 'pre-cog' guy was very bad.

Re: Minority Report

Acting feels about the same level as Sleepy Hollow...actually theme of black female detective working with a very odd and gawky white guy feels much the same too :3

The precog guy really seems altogether too well-adjusted for a kid who spent all his teenage years submerged in a bathtub. He's obviously weird, but nowhere near weird enough given his upbringing. He needs to get weirder.

Re: Minority Report

I wasn't overly impressed with the pilot but I'll stick it through once this season "officially" starts to see where it goes. neutral

Re: Minority Report

Nice concept but does not seem to jell. Another new show, Lucifer, does get it right and is very promising.

Re: Minority Report

Yeah I enjoyed the pilot episode for Lucifer and can't wait for the season to start. Probably one of the most highly anticipated out of the fall lineup for me based on the comic series. Not to mention Lesley-Ann Brandt playing as Maze, and being extremely easy on the eyes, is even more incentive. Some may know her as Naevia from Spartacus. smile

Re: Minority Report

I thought it was fine. I don't like much the police character (find her more annoying than helping). Other than that, it fills a gap.

Now that I remember it, I did also find Fez a bit annoying too as in out of tune with the rest.

Myka : You slept with her didn't you ?
Pete : Well... you... you told me to investigate ok ? So... she's unarmed.

Re: Minority Report

The series premiere of Minority Report earned a 1.1 adults 18-49 rating.

Cancellation in 5, 4, 3...

Re: Minority Report

The concept of this show sounded promising, but I did not manage to get to the end of the pilot. Bad acting and even worse dialogues. The alternate future looked sort of 'pretty', but they'd rather have invested the time and energy into writing and finding some real actors...

Re: Minority Report

Yeah, pretty poor execution. I'll give it another ep or two before deciding. I like the premise, but you are right, it's all in how they do with the scripts, casting and directors.

Re: Minority Report

Halfway through episode 2 and I found myself thinking maybe I could go and do my tax return. If that's more interesting than the show I guess it gets a big thumbs down.

Re: Minority Report

I bailed halfway through ep 2. Poor execution and does not work. Mores the pity.

Re: Minority Report

Reduced to 10 episodes. Expect cancellation.

Re: Minority Report

Not unexpected, surprised it's lasted this long.

Re: Minority Report

The setting of a Girl cop and the outsider was original (if it ever was) 10 years ago. Limitless did it too but it works a bit better. But in this case, the match is poor and the stories are the same.

Pity...
