Topic: Bosch
Bosch
Bosch is a police procedural based on Michael Connelly‘s novels about Harry Bosch. An LAPD homicide detective works to solve the murder of a 13-year-old boy while standing trial in federal court for the murder of a serial killer. After watching two episodes I gotta say it's looking really good. A perfect show to fill a hole left by The Killing. Even the concept is similar since they're working a single murder case and it looks like it won't be an easy one to solve. I like the characters (Renee Bauer <3) and after a slow pilot episode the story is picking up. Fyi all ten eps are already online since it's an Amazon show.

Re: Bosch
I'm afraid you have to be a '24' fan to understand that. So after seeing five eps in total I like it even more and it doesn't feel at all like they're stretching the story or anything like that.

Re: Bosch
I'm finished with season 1 and I'm glad I picked it up. It won't be some instant classic like True Detective, but it was very enjoyable, maybe more in terms of character development than how the cases were resolved but I don't mind it at all. And I'm glad they went with a subtle ending by tying up all loose ends instead of introducing some crazy twist or cliffhanger.

Re: Bosch
I'm watching it, but it's very cliched, don't you think? I've seen so much of it done before, but not necessarily better.

Re: Bosch
Definitely worth a watch, what it does it does well. My mate has read most of the books and recommended it which is lucky as my show list is drying up...

My thoughts exactly after the first episode. I don't remember the details as it's a few weeks ago when I watched the pilot, but: - main character has an issue with the IA and calls them "rats" - main character has a troubled past - main character has issues with boss - main character is a workaholic police officer - main character has an affair with a noob collegue I'm sure there were a lot more and personally it was too much for me to continue. Does it get any less cliched as it goes on?

What show hasn't a cliche or ten these days? Liked it very much, looking forward to season 2.

Re: Bosch
I finally got around to it and watched the whole season in the last few days (and if I knew that Eric Overmyer was behind it, I would've watched it back in Ferbuary). It started off decent and turned out pretty great. Yes, it's not revolutionary in it's character design and story, but... is that always a bad thing? Not everything needs to be original and groundbreaking. In the case of Bosch we got a quality story with good characterization, overall making it a pleasurable experience and, for me at least, a better show than the second season of True Detective. But I still can't but to slightly smirk that a hard-boiled cop has the same name as my washing machine.

Re: Bosch
I also had my eye on it for a while and finally got around to it a few days ago and finished it pretty quickly. Very solid show, awesome main character - seriously - like in my top 3 main character ever, super distracting name (but gets to a point where you don't think about it that much). The whole time it screams "quality, quality, quality". Let's hope they make at least 2-3 more seasons!

Re: Bosch
Season 2 is great so far..but a bit more relaxed than season 1. Still the coolest vignette + music though.

Re: Bosch
I started watching this because of this topic, and I have to say, this show is a hidden gem! I also love how a lot of old Lost and 24 cast members made its way to this show

Re: Bosch
I really *REALLY* like this show and I'm thrilled to find theres a S03 coming! So theres a few clichés - but hey how fun would it be to watch a show where the main character has no issue with the IA, with a utterly boring past, loves his boss and plays golf on his spare time? The thing I love the most is how its very "down to earth". There's not any forced action-scenes, no forced twists in the story-line..... ▼Spoiler except one episode in season 2 - the shootout-ep, where "everyone" happened to be at the same spot when she was openeing that safe-deposit-box-thing... seemed a bit under-explained to me
....I guess you could say it all feels *real* somehow. Also I really like series that has story-lines that arcs a season instead of each ep like Blue Bloods etc. I liked S02 better than S01 mainly because the story in S01 was a bit more messy IMHO - but probably also because one gets to know the characters better. Reminds me a little bit about Longmire in a totally different setting. BIG thumbs up!

Just finished binging S03 and I'm very VERY satisfied with this latest season. IMHO the best so far. Retains the same look, sound and feel as before. Love it!!
