New Series from TNT: The Librarians' follows on from the hit TNT TV Movie's. The show centers on an ancient organization who are hidden beneath the Metropolitan Public Library. The organization is dedicated to protecting the unknowing world from the magic that is all around them. The show follows Flynn Carsen (Noah Wyle) who has been the librarian for the past 10 years, however things are getting too much for him alone to handle and so four new librarians from around the world have been hired - Eve Baird (Rebecca Romijn), Jacob Stone (Christian Kane), Cassandra Cillian (Lindy Booth) and Ezekiel Jones (John Kim)

Did anyone watched it? My question, is do I have to watch the 2004, 2006 and 2008 tv movies before or it's not that related?

Re: The Librarians

The synopsis suggests that they found a script of an abandoned cheap show from the 90s and they want to make money on it.

Re: The Librarians

The movies do give a bit of background to the main character and the setting, but I imagine you could live without watching them, that being said,I would recommend watching the movies just to make sure your covered if they touch base with any old characters or events later on.

Re: The Librarians

I was going in with no expectations, and they surely were met. While the setting is similar to Warehouse 13, the acting severely lacks... everything. It has the typical TNT / Dean Devlin feeling, but lacks the charm of e.g. Leverage.

The production value/SFX looked cheap, the acting of Noah Wyle was way over the top and Rebecca Romijn seems seems so miscast some of her scenes really hurt to watch.

Featuring:
Noah Wyle as Doctor Who
Rebecca Romijn as an android/Terminator
Bob Newhart as Q
John Larroquette as Bosley
Christian Kane as Elliot Spencer as Christian Kane
Lindy Booth as Fred (BTVS) as Cassandra
Asian guy as asian guy
Various red shirts as Ninjas that don't do Ninja stuff

I'd recommend watch the movies for mindless fun and skip the show.

Re: The Librarians

wow, this weekend i was quite starved for entertainment... so i decided to watch the first episode. What a big mistake, i thought at the first scene...Oh this must be a training. Nope that was wasnt training...that was the actual Firefight with terrorists...it was lame, slow, and well...stupid...

then i thought this show must be some kind of Mac Gruber parody....after 10 more minutes i found....nope they play it straight. Then i thought...ok lets wait 15 minutes to find ONE redeeming quality. I didnt found any.

Dont get me wrong, i am by no means a high brow kind of person. I love mindless entertainment and i can suspend my disbelief (used to watch container wars with pleasure) but the acting in this show was the worst i have ever seen.

It just feels so wrong.

Re: The Librarians

So this has made it to UK tv. Did anyone  whois still here watch this series? It seems that people of 2014 wrote it off. I see it ran for 4 seasons from 2014 so must have done some thing right?

As a matter of fact, The Husband recently discovered this. We're only on S01E02 though.

Re: The Librarians

I watched a few episodes after I discovered the movies a few months ago but quickly dropped it.

It just lacked the charm of the movies and felt like the typical attempt to milk a franchise with a lesser cast and writing.

Re: The Librarians

so the films 2004 on wards? Warehouse 13 2009 and the tv series 2014. The tv series looks too like Warehouse 13  though with actors lacking any real charisma? (I am runing out shows to watch...)

Re: The Librarians

I liked it, watched it when it was on. If you like the genre, the maybe Leverage and Lev.: Redemption is more in your wheelhouse. It has Christian Kane, but the others are new (or are in one episode here and therea).

I liked it

Re: The Librarians

well I have nearly finished season 1 and some nice stories. What I HATED was the original wacky librarian guy who reminded me of David Tennants Dr Who. I hope they  phased that character out for the other seasons as he was a LOSER and  spoilt the show

Re: The Librarians

By the original wacky librarian guy do you mean Noah Wyle who was The Librarian in the 3 movies this series is based on?

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0412915/ (2004) precedes Tennants reign as Doctor Who for he had the role between 2005 and 2010.

Too bad for you he is in 23 of the 42 episodes.

...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?

Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

He is doing it to https://next-episode.net/leverage-redemption now. Do you think he is spoiling that show as well?
Timothy Hutton was replaced in Leverage Redemption because of sexual accusations that have been proven false in court. But the damage is done.

I mean I like the guy Noah Wyle but I prefer Hutton.

I havenn't watched that show thanks for the idea not one to watch. I just looked at the previous 2014 comments above and seems I am not the only one to see this guy as an over the top  Dr Who character, over the top nonsense. Dr Who had a long line of bizzare Dr Whos why I cannot watch it any more

Re: The Librarians

Omg! I don't know anyone who watched this. I did and it was amazing. I was gutted it only lasted four seasons. But such a great show.
