Re: Z Nation

If I had more free time I would watch this show just to laugh at the crazy ideas I see on the net, not for the plot:

Re: Z Nation

Nice season finale, now we know how the Zs came to be and a good cliffhanger.

Call me crazy but Z Nation is easily the second best Zombie show around and occasionally even rivals the Walking Dead at times.

Re: Z Nation

Yeah i think the fact that it doesn't take itself too seriously lets you just sit back and watch it without being critical.

While I love TWD, i almost found myself enjoying this more at times.....just a lot more fun

Even tho Z Nation is the hillbilly, redneck, low budget version of The Walking Dead, i like some of their ideas like:

Spoiler

-That new turned Zombies can run faster
-that zombies get more attrackted to higher pitched noises
-that there are also bigger end boss like zombies
-that zombies fly in the air coz of a hurricane wtf wink
-that the guy with the cure slowly turns into a zombie?

Spoiler

-Z Nation' series proves that a zombie apocalypse is the perfect time for a road trip
-in twd the zombies are referred to as walkers, in Z nation they're puppies & kittens
-it's an all you can eat, anything goes type of world with no sense of direction whatsoever, and that's what makes it fun!
-John Hyams is one of the best action directors working today. Hollywood, please get him out of the slums of Syfy
-Citizen Z is a little weird, right? And he's up there keeping a watchful eye in the sky, right? Well, that may not be the case anymore with those nukes on the way....
-the zunami was retarded but funny as hell. Sharknado anyone???
-zombies on Viagra, yes you read that right the first time...
-and don't forget the mind control dude. Murphy is fucking awesome!!

Z Nation is the kind of show that only makes sense when you're as high as a kite and drunker than Jimmy McNulty. Murphy and Doc are by far my favorite characters in the show! It's definitely not The Walking Dead but it's a hell of a lot more fun!! big_smile

Re: Z Nation

This show is embracing its comic side even more this season. Murphy is am awesome character to build a show around, the actor knows how to add in just the right amount of silly to the scene.

As for the character Murphy, the power isn't going to his head at all :3

Where would you find Murphy?

I LOVED IT, AS I LOVE THE WALKING DEAD. I THINK THAT THERE SHOULD BE MORE SEASONS, I do believe that one day the apocalypse that has bee. spoken about century's ago will happen and those who don't think so won't be ready. either way it goes I so loved the show and was upset that season 5 episode 13 ended. There needs to be more.

It got repetative, just like the walking dead. Thiers better shows that deserved to be renewed, it was fun whilst it lasted

Re: Z Nation

The first four seasons of Z Nation were brilliant IMO. In hindsight season five, on the other hand, wasn't as good but unfortunately, repetitiveness wasn't one of its weak spots. Ironically what season five needed was a repeat of the formula that was used in seasons 1-4 because trading in the craziness for the laziness, the puntastic for the political, and the pure fun for the outright *zZzZz*.... didn't do it any favors in the end. Speaking of which, WTF was that ending about?? Bottom line is that Z Nation took itself too seriously its fifth time around and the characters dynamics suffered immensely because of it. Regardless, four fantastic seasons and one mediocre one is still pretty great in my book.

Well, there's always Black Summer to look forward to. It will premiere on Netflix on April 11th, 2019. It won't be anything like Z Nation from what those involved have disclosed. No humor. Nothing tongue in cheek. It will be a unique, and intense Zombie Apocalypse show! Keep in mind Netflix has stated that there is a chance they will pick up Z Nation but that also depends on how Black Summer turns out. They also started streaming season five episodes back in January, so I'm sure those numbers will come into play at some point. I mean don't get it twisted, Netflix has a really good relationship with The Asylum (go figure), they already have the rights to stream the series, and they clearly see this as a worthwhile show, with an avid and loyal fanbase, otherwise, they would've never moved forward with the prequel to begin with.

Re: Z Nation

Nothing like an early morning tweet to start your day. smile

I received an interesting one early this morning about Black Summer season 2 probabilities, and it's connection to Z Nation; which BTW is a big fat zero! Like so many others, —myself included— early reputable sources led us to believe that Black Summer was supposed to be a prequel to Z Nation. I must admit that even after hearing that across several sources I was still skeptical because of how over-the-top Z Nation is, and it's kind of hard to envision a white-knuckle horror-drama set in the same universe as Z Nation.

During an interview with Screen Rant, King made it clear that the Netflix series isn't connected to Syfy's Z Nation, which was cancelled last year after five seasons.

"It's interesting because people started tying [Black Summer] to Z Nation and I'm like this has nothing to do with that. It's not a link," she said.

"I had never actually seen Z Nation or heard about Z Nation, but I have friends who absolutely love that show, and then people started putting it out there that it was like a prequel of Z-Nation, which it's not... And really there is no relationship, but the relationship is it came from the people that were involved with Z Nation."

Black Summer co-creator Karl Schaefer was also behind Z Nation, and both shows were produced by The Asylum.

John Hyams, who directs Black Summer, also directed several episodes of Nation.

Black Summer Season 2: Release Date, Cast, Z Nation and Everything You Need To Know

Those that have already seen Black Summer say it's by far one of the most original takes on zombie fiction since 28 Days Later and Dawn of the Dead than anything else —which is perfect for me— and since the season is only eight episodes, it feels longer than it needs to be, but still doesn’t feel like its overstaying its welcome. I'll give it a spin eventually, once I'm done with what's currently on my plate, —Doom Patrol/Love, Death & Robots— but once those shows are complete, I'll be starting my Black Summer binge. big_smile
